Hadith 61
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ نَجِيحٍ وَكَانَ ثِقَةً ، عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ ، عَنْ جُنْدُبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : " كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَنَحْنُ فِتْيَانٌ حَزَاوِرَةٌ ، فَتَعَلَّمْنَا الْإِيمَانَ قَبْلَ أَنْ نَتَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ ، ثُمَّ تَعَلَّمْنَا الْقُرْآنَ فَازْدَدْنَا بِهِ إِيمَانًا " .
´It was narrated that Jundub bin 'Abdullah said:` "We were with the Prophet (ﷺ), and we were strong youths, so we learned faith before we learned Qur'an. Then we learned Qur'an and our faith increased thereby."
Hadith 3152
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ ابْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ الْبَجَلِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ : شَهِدْتُ الْأَضْحَى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَبَحَ أُنَاسٌ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ كَانَ ذَبَحَ مِنْكُمْ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَلْيُعِدْ أُضْحِيَّتَهُ ، وَمَنْ لَا فَلْيَذْبَحْ عَلَى اسْمِ اللَّهِ " .
´It was narrated from Aswad bin Qais that he heard Jundub Al-Bajali say:` “I was present on Adha day with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and some people slaughtered before the prayer. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever among you has slaughtered before the prayer, let him repeat his sacrifice, and whoever has not, let him offer his sacrifice in the Name of Allah.’”
Hadith 4016
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ الْحَسَنِ , عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ , عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يُذِلَّ نَفْسَهُ " , قَالُوا : وَكَيْفَ يُذِلُّ نَفْسَهُ ؟ قَالَ : " يَتَعَرَّضُ مِنَ الْبَلَاءِ لِمَا لَا يُطِيقُهُ " .
´It was narrated from Hudhaifah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The believer should not humiliate himself.” They said: “How could he humiliate himself?” He said: “By taking on a trial that he cannot deal with.”
Hadith 4207
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق , حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ , عَنْ سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ , عَنْ جُنْدَبٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ يُرَاءِ يُرَاءِ اللَّهُ بِهِ , وَمَنْ يُسَمِّعْ يُسَمِّعِ اللَّهُ بِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Jundab that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever wants to be heard of, Allah will make him heard of, and whoever wants to be seen, Allah will show him (i.e., expose his real motives).”
