Hadith 104
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، وَإِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا صَخْرَةَ يَذْكُرُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ وأبى بردة بن أبي موسى ، قَالَا : أُغْمِيَ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى ، وَأَقْبَلَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ أُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ تَصِيحُ بِرَنَّةٍ ، قَالَا : ثُمَّ أَفَاقَ ، قَالَ : أَلَمْ تَعْلَمِي ، وَكَانَ يُحَدِّثُهَا ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَنَا بَرِيءٌ مِمَّنْ ، حَلَقَ ، وَسَلَقَ وَخَرَقَ " .
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Burda that Abu Musa fell unconscious and his wife Umm 'Abdullah came there and wailed loudly. When he felt relief he said: Don't you know? -and narrated to her: Verily the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: I have no concern with one who shaved her hair, lamented loudly and tore (her clothes in grief).
Hadith 183
وحَدَّثَنَاه أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ ، بِإِسْنَادِهِمَا نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ حَفْصِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ إِلَى آخِرِهِ ، وَقَدْ زَادَ ، وَنَقَصَ شَيْئًا .
Abu Bakr (RA) bin Abi Shaiba, Ja'far bin 'Aun, Hisham bin Sa'd, Zaid bin Aslam narrated the hadith as transmitted by Hafs bin Maisara, with certain additions and omissions.
Hadith 503
حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ ، قَالَ : ح وحَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّاءَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ ، وَعُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، يَزِيدُ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ : فَلَمَّا كَانَ بِالْهَاجِرَةِ ، خَرَجَ بِلَالٌ ، فَنَادَى بِالصَّلَاةِ .
'Aun bin Abu Juhaifa narrated from the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) on the authority of his father a hadith like that of Sufyan, and 'Umar bin Abu Za'ida made this addition: Some of them tried to excel the others (in obtaining water), and in the hadith transmitted by Malik bin Mighwal (the words are): When it was noon, Bilal (RA) came out and summoned (people) to (noon) prayer.
Hadith 1221
وحَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَنِي إِلَى الْيَمَنِ ، قَالَ : فَوَافَقْتُهُ فِي الْعَامِ الَّذِي حَجَّ فِيهِ ، فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا أَبَا مُوسَى كَيْفَ قُلْتَ حِينَ أَحْرَمْتَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : لَبَّيْكَ إِهْلَالًا كَإِهْلَالِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " هَلْ سُقْتَ هَدْيًا ؟ " ، فَقُلْتُ : لَا ، قَالَ : " فَانْطَلِقْ فَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ، ثُمَّ أَحِلَّ " ، ثُمَّ سَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ وَسُفْيَانَ .
Abu Musa (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (May peace be upon im) had sent me to Yemen and I came back in the year in which he (the Holy Prophet) performed the (Farewell) Pilgrimage. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon, him) said to me: Abu Musa, what did you say when you entered into the state of Ihram? I said: At thy beck and call; my (Ihram) is that of the Ihram of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) (May peace be upon him). He said: Have you brought the sacrificial animals? I said: No. Thereupon he said: Go and circumambulate the House, and (run) between al-Safa' and al-Marwah and then put off Ihram. The rest of the hadith is the same.
Hadith 1004
وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنِي الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ هُوَ ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ح ، وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ أَمَّا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، وَرَوْحٌ ، فَفِي حَدِيثِهِمَا : فَهَلْ لِي أَجْرٌ ، كَمَا قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ : وَأَمَّا شُعَيْبٌ ، وَجَعْفَرٌ ، فَفِي حَدِيثِهِمَا : أَفَلَهَا أَجْرٌ كَرِوَايَةِ ابْنِ بِشْرٍ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Hisham bin 'Urwa with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 1794
وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ ، وَزَادَ وَكَانَ يَسْتَحِبُّ ثَلَاثًا ، يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ عَلَيْكَ بِقُرَيْشٍ ، اللَّهُمَّ عَلَيْكَ بِقُرَيْشٍ ، اللَّهُمَّ عَلَيْكَ بِقُرَيْشٍ " ثَلَاثًا ، وَذَكَرَ فِيهِمْ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ عُتْبَةَ ، وَأُمَيَّةَ بْنَ خَلَفٍ وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ ، قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ : وَنَسِيتُ السَّابِعَ .
Abu Ishiq has narrated a similar tradition through a different chain of transmitters and has added: He (the Messenger of Allah) (ﷺ) loved to repeat the supplication thrice. He was saying: O Allah, it is for Thee to deal with the Quraish (repeating these words thrice). And among the Quraish, he mentioned (the names of) al-Walid bin 'Utba and Umayya bin Khalaf. (The narrator says there is no doubt about the names of these persons but he has forgotten the name of the seventh man)
Hadith 2383
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، حَدَّثَنِي سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا لَاتَّخَذْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ خَلِيلًا " .
'Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If I were to choose as my bosom friend I would have chosen the son of Abu Quhafa (Abu Bakr) as my bosom friend.
Hadith 2385
وحَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُمَيْسٍ . ح ، وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ : وَسُئِلَتْ مَنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسْتَخْلِفًا لَوِ اسْتَخْلَفَهُ ؟ قَالَتْ : أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، فَقِيلَ لَهَا : ثُمَّ مَنْ بَعْدَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ؟ قَالَتْ : عُمَرُ ، ثُمَّ قِيلَ لَهَا : مَنْ بَعْدَ عُمَرَ ؟ قَالَتْ : أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ ، ثُمَّ انْتَهَتْ إِلَى هَذَا " .
Ibn Abu Mulaikah reported: I heard A'isha as saying and she was asked as to whom Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) would have nominated his successor if he had to nominate one at all. She said: Abu Bakr. It was said to her: Then whom after Abu Bakr? She said: Umar. It was said to her. Then whom after 'Umar? She said: Abu Ubaida bin Jarrab, and then she kept quiet at this.
Hadith 3017
وحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْيَهُودِ إِلَى عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ " آيَةٌ فِي كِتَابِكُمْ تَقْرَءُونَهَا لَوْ عَلَيْنَا نَزَلَتْ مَعْشَرَ الْيَهُودِ لَاتَّخَذْنَا ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ عِيدًا ، قَالَ : وَأَيُّ آيَةٍ ؟ ، قَالَ : الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلامَ دِينًا سورة المائدة آية 3 ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ الْيَوْمَ الَّذِي نَزَلَتْ فِيهِ ، وَالْمَكَانَ الَّذِي نَزَلَتْ فِيهِ ، نَزَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ " .
Tariq bin Shihab reported that a Jew came to 'Umar and said: Commander of the Faithful, there is a verse in your Book, which you recite. Had it been revealed in connection with the Jews, we would have taken it as the day of rejoicing. Thereupon he said: Which verse do you mean? He replied: "This day I have perfected your religion for you and I have completed My favours upon you and I have chosen al-Islam as religion for you." Umar said, I know the day when it was revealed and the place where it was revealed. It was revealed to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) at 'Arafat on Friday.
Hadith 3024
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَهَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : تَعْلَمُ ، وَقَالَ هَارُونُ : تَدْرِي آخِرَ سُورَةٍ نَزَلَتْ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ نَزَلَتْ جَمِيعًا ؟ ، قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ سورة النصر آية 1 ، قَالَ : صَدَقْتَ ، وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ تَعْلَمُ أَيُّ سُورَةٍ ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ آخِرَ ،
Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Utba reported: Ibn Abbas (RA) said to me: Do you know-and in the words of Harun (another narrator): Are you aware of-the last Sura which was revealed in the Qur'an as a whole? I said: Yes, "When came the help from Allah and the victory" (cx.). Thereupon, he said: You have told the truth. And in the narration of Abu Shaiba (the words are): Do you know the Sura? And he did not mention the words "the last one".
