Hadith 3585
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ " .
It was narrated from Jabir that the Prophet (ﷺ) entered Makkah wearing a black turban.
Hadith 3624
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ , عَنْ لَيْثٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : جِيءَ بِأَبِي قُحَافَةَ , يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَأَنَّ رَأْسَهُ ثَغَامَةٌ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اذْهَبُوا بِهِ إِلَى بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ فَلْتُغَيِّرْهُ , وَجَنِّبُوهُ السَّوَادَ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that he said:` “Abu Quhaifah was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) on the Day of the Conquest (of Makkah), and his head was all white. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Take him to some of his womenfolk and let them change this, but avoid black.’”
Hadith 3709
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , عَنْ شُعْبَةَ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ , ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : اسْتَأْذَنْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : " مَنْ هَذَا ؟ " , فَقُلْتُ : أَنَا , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنَا أَنَا " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` "I asked the Prophet(ﷺ) for permission to enter, and he said: 'Who is that?' I said: 'Me'. The Prophet(ﷺ) said " Me, me?!"
Hadith 3710
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قُلْتُ : كَيْفَ أَصْبَحْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " بِخَيْرٍ , مِنْ رَجُلٍ لَمْ يُصْبِحْ صَائِمًا , وَلَمْ يَعُدْ سَقِيمًا " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` "I said: 'How are you this morning, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'I am better than one who did not get up fasting, and who did not visit and sick.'"
Hadith 3729
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَئِنْ عِشْتُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ , لَأَنْهَيَنَّ أَنْ يُسَمَّى رَبَاحٌ , وَنَجِيحٌ , وَأَفْلَحُ , وَنَافِعٌ , وَيَسَارٌ " .
´It was narrated from 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab that the Prophet(ﷺ) said:` "If I live- if Allah wills - I will forbid the names Rabah(profit), Najih(saved), Aflah (Successful), Nafi (beneficial) and Yasar(prosperity)."
Hadith 3736
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَسَمَّوْا بِاسْمِي , وَلَا تَكَنَّوْا بِكُنْيَتِي " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "Call yourselves by my name but do not call yourselves by my Kunyah."
Hadith 3747
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ , وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا اسْتَشَارَ أَحَدُكُمْ أَخَاهُ , فَلْيُشِرْ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "If one of you consults his brother, then let him advise him."
Hadith 3771
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَهَانَا : " فَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُطْفِئَ سِرَاجَنَا " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` "The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) commanded us (to do some things) and forbade us (to do some things), and he commanded us to extinguish our lamps."
Hadith 3772
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , أَنْبَأَنَا هِشَامٌ , عَنْ الْحَسَنِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَنْزِلُوا عَلَى جَوَادِّ الطَّرِيقِ , وَلَا تَقْضُوا عَلَيْهَا الْحَاجَاتِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "Do not camp on the middle of the road, or relieve yourselves there."
Hadith 3774
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , أَنْبَأَنَا بَقِيَّةُ , أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " تَرِّبُوا صُحُفَكُمْ أَنْجَحُ لَهَا , إِنَّ التُّرَابَ مُبَارَكٌ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said:` "Put dust on your writings, because it is better, and dust is blessed (being humble in correspondence brings good results)."
Hadith 3777
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ , قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ : أَسَمِعْتَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , يَقُولُ : مَرَّ رَجُلٌ بِسِهَامٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمْسِكْ بِنِصَالِهَا " , قَالَ : نَعَمْ .
´Jabir bin 'Abdullah said:` "A man passed through the masjid with some arrows, and the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: 'Hold them by their heads!' He said: 'Yes(ok).'"
Hadith 3800
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ بَشِيرِ بْنِ الْفَاكِهِ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ خِرَاشٍ ابْنَ عَمِّ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " أَفْضَلُ الذِّكْرِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ , وَأَفْضَلُ الدُّعَاءِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ " .
´Jabir bin 'Abdullah said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'The best of remembrance is La ilaha illallah (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and the best of supplication is Al-Hamdu Lillah (praise is to Allah).'"
Hadith 3843
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ , عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَلُوا اللَّهَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا , وَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that :` the Messenger of Allah said: "Ask Allah for beneficial knowledge and seek refuge with Allah from knowledge that is of no benefit."
Hadith 3887
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ , عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ , أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْتَهُ , فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ وَعِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ , قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ : لَا مَبِيتَ لَكُمْ وَلَا عَشَاءَ , وَإِذَا دَخَلَ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ دُخُولِهِ , قَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ : أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ , فَإِذَا لَمْ يَذْكُرِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ طَعَامِهِ , قَالَ : أَدْرَكْتُمُ الْمَبِيتَ وَالْعَشَاءَ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) say:` “When a man enters his house, and remembers Allah when he enters and when he eats, Satan says: ‘You have no place to stay and no supper.’ If he enters his house and does not remember Allah upon entering, Satan says: ‘You have found a place to stay.’ And if he does not remember Allah when he eats, (Satan) says: ‘You have found a place to stay and supper.’”
Hadith 3902
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَنْ رَآنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ , فَقَدْ رَآنِي , إِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلشَّيْطَانِ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ فِي صُورَتِي " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever sees me in a dream has (really) seen me, for Satan cannot appear in my form.”
Hadith 3908
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمُ الرُّؤْيَا يَكْرَهُهَا فَلْيَبْصُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ثَلَاثًا , وَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ثَلَاثًا , وَلْيَتَحَوَّلْ عَنْ جَنْبِهِ الَّذِي كَانَ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “If anyone of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him spit dryly to his left three times and seek refuge with Allah from Satan three times, and turn over onto his other side.”
Hadith 3912
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , رَأَيْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ فِيمَا يَرَى النَّائِمُ , كَأَنَّ عُنُقِي ضُرِبَتْ وَسَقَطَ رَأْسِي فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَأَعَدْتُهُ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا لَعِبَ الشَّيْطَانُ بِأَحَدِكُمْ فِي مَنَامِهِ , فَلَا يُحَدِّثَنَّ بِهِ النَّاسَ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` “A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was delivering a sermon and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! Last night in my dream I saw my neck being struck and my head fell off, and I chased it, picked it up and put it back.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘If Satan plays with any one of you in his dreams, he should not tell people about it.’”
Hadith 3913
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا حَلَمَ أَحَدُكُمْ , فَلَا يُخْبِرِ النَّاسَ بِتَلَعُّبِ الشَّيْطَانِ بِهِ فِي الْمَنَامِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “If anyone of you has a bad dream, he should not tell people about how Satan played with him in his dream.”
Hadith 3928
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ , حَتَّى يَقُولُوا : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ , فَإِذَا قَالُوا : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ , عَصَمُوا مِنِّي دِمَاءَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ , إِلَّا بِحَقِّهَا , وَحِسَابُهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “I have been commanded to fight the people until they say: La ilaha illallah. If they say: La ilaha illallah, then their blood and wealth are protected from me, except for a right that is due from it, and their reckoning will be with Allah.”
Hadith 3935
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنِ انْتَهَبَ نُهْبَةً مَشْهُورَةً فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا " .
´It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever plunders openly is not one of us.”
Hadith 4010
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ , عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : لَمَّا رَجَعَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُهَاجِرَةُ الْبَحْرِ , قَالَ : " أَلَا تُحَدِّثُونِي بِأَعَاجِيبِ مَا رَأَيْتُمْ بِأَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ " , قَالَ فِتْيَةٌ مِنْهُمْ : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , بَيْنَا نَحْنُ جُلُوسٌ مَرَّتْ بِنَا عَجُوزٌ مِنْ عَجَائِزِ رَهَابِينِهِمْ , تَحْمِلُ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا قُلَّةً مِنْ مَاءٍ , فَمَرَّتْ بِفَتًى مِنْهُمْ , فَجَعَلَ إِحْدَى يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهَا , ثُمَّ دَفَعَهَا , فَخَرَّتْ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهَا , فَانْكَسَرَتْ قُلَّتُهَا , فَلَمَّا ارْتَفَعَتْ , الْتَفَتَتْ إِلَيْهِ , فَقَالَتْ : سَوْفَ تَعْلَمُ , يَا غُدَرُ إِذَا وَضَعَ اللَّهُ الْكُرْسِيَّ , وَجَمَعَ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَالْآخِرِينَ , وَتَكَلَّمَتِ الْأَيْدِي وَالْأَرْجُلُ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ , فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُ كَيْفَ أَمْرِي وَأَمْرُكَ , عِنْدَهُ غَدًا , قَالَ : يَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَدَقَتْ صَدَقَتْ , كَيْفَ يُقَدِّسُ اللَّهُ أُمَّةً لَا يُؤْخَذُ لِضَعِيفِهِمْ مِنْ شَدِيدِهِمْ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` “When the emigrants who had crossed the sea came back to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he said: ‘Why don’t you tell me of the strange things that you saw in the land of Abyssinia?’ Some young men among them said: ‘Yes, O Messenger of Allah. While we were sitting, one of their elderly nuns came past, carrying a vessel of water on her head. She passed by some of their youth, one of whom placed his hand between her shoulders and pushed her. She fell on her knees and her vessel broke. When she stood up, she turned to him and said: “You will come to know, O traitor, that when Allah sets up the Footstool and gathers the first and the last, and hands and feet speak of what they used to earn, you will come to know your case and my case in His presence soon.’” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘She spoke the truth, she spoke the truth. How can Allah purify any people (of sin) when they do not support their weak from their strong?’”
Hadith 4159
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ , عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : " بَعَثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَنَحْنُ ثَلَاثُ مِائَةٍ , نَحْمِلُ أَزْوَادَنَا عَلَى رِقَابِنَا , فَفَنِيَ أَزْوَادُنَا حَتَّى كَانَ يَكُونُ لِلرَّجُلِ مِنَّا تَمْرَةٌ , فَقِيلَ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , وَأَيْنَ تَقَعُ التَّمْرَةُ مِنَ الرَّجُلِ ؟ فَقَالَ : لَقَدْ وَجَدْنَا فَقْدَهَا حِينَ فَقَدْنَاهَا , وَأَتَيْنَا الْبَحْرَ , فَإِذَا نَحْنُ بِحُوتٍ قَدْ قَذَفَهُ الْبَحْرُ , فَأَكَلْنَا مِنْهُ ثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ يَوْمًا " .
´It was narrated that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent us, (we were) three hundred men, carrying our provisions on our necks. Our provisions ran out until there would be for (every) man among us one date (a day).” Then it was said: “O Abu ‘Abdullah, how can one date satisfy a man?” He said: “When we no longer had it, we realized how much it was worth. Then we came to the sea and found a whale that had been thrown up by the sea, and we ate from it for eighteen days.”
Hadith 4167
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " لَا يَمُوتَنَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يُحْسِنُ الظَّنَّ بِاللَّهِ " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘No one of you should die except thinking positively of Allah.’”
Hadith 4230
حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ , أَنْبَأَنَا شَرِيكٌ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يُحْشَرُ النَّاسُ عَلَى نِيَّاتِهِمْ " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “People will be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection) according to their intentions.”
Hadith 4241
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ رَافِعٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ , عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ جَارِيَةَ , عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , قَالَ : مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يُصَلِّي عَلَى صَخْرَةٍ , فَأَتَى نَاحِيَةَ مَكَّةَ فَمَكَثَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ , فَوَجَدَ الرَّجُلَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى حَالِهِ فَقَامَ فَجَمَعَ يَدَيْهِ , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْقَصْدِ " , ثَلَاثًا , " فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا " .
´It was narrated that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by a man who was praying on a rock, and he went towards Makkah and stayed a while, then he left and found the man still praying as he had been. He stood up and clasped his hands, then said: “O people, you should observe moderation,” three times, “for Allah does not get tired (of giving reward) but you get tired.”
Hadith 4272
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ حَفْصٍ الْأُبُلِّيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ الْمَيِّتُ الْقَبْرَ مُثِّلَتِ الشَّمْسُ لَهُ عِنْدَ غُرُوبِهَا , فَيَجْلِسُ يَمْسَحُ عَيْنَيْهِ , وَيَقُولُ : دَعُونِي أُصَلِّي " .
´It was narrated from Jabir that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “When the deceased enters the grave, the sun is made to appear as if it is setting. He sits up, wipes his eyes and says: ‘Let me pray.’”
Hadith 4281
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ , عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ , عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , عَنْ أُمِّ مُبَشِّرٍ , عَنْ حَفْصَةَ , قَالَتْ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَلَّا يَدْخُلَ النَّارَ أَحَدٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا , وَالْحُدَيْبِيَةَ " , قَالَتْ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ : وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلا وَارِدُهَا كَانَ عَلَى رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَقْضِيًّا سورة مريم آية 71 , قَالَ : " أَلَمْ تَسْمَعِيهِ , يَقُولُ : ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا وَنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا سورة مريم آية 72 " .
´It was narrated from Hafsah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “I hope that no one of those who witnessed (the battle of) Badr and (Treaty) Hudaybiyah will enter Hell, if Allah wills.” I said: “O Messenger of Allah, doesn’t Allah say “There is not one of you but will pass over it (Hell); this is with your Lord, a decree which must be accomplished?” [19:71] He said: “Have you not heard that He says: ‘Then We shall save those who use to fear Allah and were dutiful to Him. And We shall leave the wrongdoers therein (humbled) to their knees (in Hell)?’” [19:72]
Hadith 4310
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ , حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَابِرٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ شَفَاعَتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لِأَهْلِ الْكَبَائِرِ مِنْ أُمَّتِي " .
´It was narrated that Jabir said:` “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘My intercession on the Day of Resurrection will be for those among my nation who committed major sins.’”
