Hadith 151
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَقَدْ أُوذِيتُ فِي اللَّهِ ، وَمَا يُؤْذَى أَحَدٌ ، وَلَقَدْ أُخِفْتُ فِي اللَّهِ ، وَمَا يُخَافُ أَحَدٌ ، وَلَقَدْ أَتَتْ عَلَيَّ ثَالِثَةٌ ، وَمَا لِي وَلِبِلَالٍ طَعَامٌ يَأْكُلُهُ ذُو كَبِدٍ إِلَّا مَا وَارَى إِبِطُ بِلَالٍ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'I have been tortured for the sake of Allah as no one else has, and I have suffered fear for the sake of Allah as no one else has. I have spent three days when Bilal and I had no food that any living being could eat but that which could be concealed in the armpit of Bilal.'"
Hadith 187
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : تَلَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا الْحُسْنَى وَزِيَادَةٌ سورة يونس آية 26 ، وَقَالَ : " إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَأَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ ، نَادَى مُنَادٍ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ إِنَّ لَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مَوْعِدًا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُنْجِزَكُمُوهُ ، فَيَقُولُونَ : وَمَا هُوَ أَلَمْ يُثَقِّلِ اللَّهُ مَوَازِينَنَا ، وَيُبَيِّضْ وُجُوهَنَا ، وَيُدْخِلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ ، وَيُنْجِنَا مِنَ النَّارِ ، قَالَ : " فَيَكْشِفُ الْحِجَابَ فَيَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا أَعَطَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَيْئًا أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّظَرِ إِلَيْهِ ، وَلَا أَقَرَّ لِأَعْيُنِهِمْ " .
´It was narrated that Suhaib said:` "The Messenger of Allah recited this Verse: 'For those who have done good is the best reward and even more.' Then he said: 'When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, and the people of the Fire enter the Fire, a caller will cry out: "O people of Paradise! You have a covenant with Allah and He wants to fulfill it." They will say: "What is it?" Has Allah not made the Balance (of our good deeds) heavy, and made our faces bright, and admitted us to Paradise and saved us from Hell?" Then the Veil will be lifted and they will look upon Him, and by Allah, Allah will not give them anything that is more beloved to them or delightful, than looking upon Him.'"
Hadith 244
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " مَا رُئِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَأْكُلُ مُتَّكِئًا قَطُّ ، وَلَا يَطَأُ عَقِبَيْهِ رَجُلَانِ " .
´It was narrated from Shu'aib bin 'Abdullah bin 'Amr that his father said:` "The Messenger of Allah was never seen eating while reclining or making two men walk behind him." (Sahih) Other chains with the same meanings.
Hadith 528
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، " أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا بَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَوَثَبَ إِلَيْهِ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تُزْرِمُوهُ ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِدَلْوٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that:` A Bedouin urinated in the mosque, and some of the people rushed at him. The Messenger of Allah said: "Do not interrupt him." Then he called for a bucket of water and poured it over (the urine).
Hadith 644
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ كَانُوا لَا يَجْلِسُونَ مَعَ الْحَائِضِ فِي بَيْتٍ ، وَلَا يَأْكُلُونَ ، وَلَا يَشْرَبُونَ ، قَالَ : فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْمَحِيضِ قُلْ هُوَ أَذًى فَاعْتَزِلُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي الْمَحِيضِ سورة البقرة آية 222 ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اصْنَعُوا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا الْجِمَاعَ " .
´It was narrated from Anas that:` The Jews would not sit with a menstruating woman in a house, nor eat with her, nor drink with her. That was mentioned to the Messenger of Allah, then Allah revealed the words: "They ask you concerning menstruation. Say: that is a harmful thing, therefore keep away from women during menses." The Messenger of Allah said: "Do everything except sexual intercourse."
Hadith 698
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرُوا تَفْرِيطَهُمْ فِي النَّوْمِ ، فَقَالَ : نَامُوا حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ فِي النَّوْمِ تَفْرِيطٌ ، إِنَّمَا التَّفْرِيطُ فِي الْيَقَظَةِ ، فَإِذَا نَسِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ صَلَاةً ، أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا وَلِوَقْتِهَا مِنَ الْغَدِ " ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ : فَسَمِعَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ وَأَنَا أُحَدِّثُ بِالْحَدِيثِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا فَتًى انْظُرْ كَيْفَ تُحَدِّثُ ، فَإِنِّي شَاهِدٌ لِلْحَدِيثِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : فَمَا أَنْكَرَ مِنْ حَدِيثِهِ شَيْئًا .
´'Abdullah bin Rabah narrated that Abu Qatadah said:` "They mentioned negligence because of sleeping too much, and he said: 'They slept until the sun had risen. The Messenger of Allah said: "There is no negligence when oneis sleeping, rather there is negligence when one is awake. If anyone of you forgets to pray, or sleeps and misses a prayer, then let him pray when he remembers, and during its time if it is a day after. (Sahih)'Abdullah bin Rabah said: "Imran bin Husain heard me when I was narrating this Hadith and said: 'O young man, look at how you are narrating the Hadith. I was present at the time of this Hadith with the Messenger of Allah.' And he did not deny anything of the Hadith."
Hadith 781
حَدَّثَنَا مَجْزَأَةُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ مَوْلَى ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الصَّائِغُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَشِّرِ الْمَشَّائِينَ فِي الظُّلَمِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ بِالنُّورِ التَّامِّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Give glad tidings to those who walk to the mosques in the dark, of perfect light on the Day of Resurrection.'"
Hadith 801
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَغْرِبَ ، فَرَجَعَ مَنْ رَجَعَ ، وَعَقَّبَ مَنْ عَقَّبَ ، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسْرِعًا قَدْ حَفَزَهُ النَّفَسُ ، وَقَدْ حَسَرَ عَنْ رُكْبَتَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَبْشِرُوا ، هَذَا رَبُّكُمْ قَدْ فَتَحَ بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ السَّمَاءِ يُبَاهِي بِكُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " انْظُرُوا إِلَى عِبَادِي قَدْ قَضَوْا فَرِيضَةً ، وَهُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَ أُخْرَى " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said:` "We performed the Maghrib (prayer) with the Messenger of Allah, then those who went back went back, and those who stayed, stayed. Then the Messenger of Allah came back in a hurry, out of breath, with his garment pulled up to his knees, and said: 'Be of good cheer, for your Lord has opened one of the gates of heaven and is boasting of you before the angels, saying: "Look at My slaves; they have fulfilled one obligatory duty and are awaiting another."
Hadith 1024
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ ، وَعَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَزَقَ فِي ثَوْبِهِ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، ثُمَّ دَلَكَهُ " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) spat on his garment while he was performing prayer, then he rubbed it.
Hadith 1117
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يُكَلَّمُ فِي الْحَاجَةِ إِذَا نَزَلَ عَنِ الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the people used to speak to the Prophet (ﷺ) about their needs when he came down from the pulpit on Friday.
Hadith 1352
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ تَطَوُّعًا ، فَمَرَّ بِآيَةِ عَذَابٍ ، فَقَالَ : " أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَوَيْلٌ لِأَهْلِ النَّارِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Laila said:` “I prayed beside the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was praying voluntary prayers at night. He recited a Verse which mentioned punishment and said: ‘I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire, woe to the people of the Fire.’”
Hadith 1415
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَعَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يَخْطُبُ إِلَى جِذْعٍ ، فَلَمَّا اتَّخَذَ الْمِنْبَرَ ذَهَبَ إِلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، فَحَنَّ الْجِذْعُ ، فَأَتَاهُ فَاحْتَضَنَهُ ، فَسَكَنَ ، فَقَالَ : لَوْ لَمْ أَحْتَضِنْهُ لَحَنَّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to deliver the sermon leaning on a tree trunk. When he started to use the pulpit, he went to the pulpit, and the trunk made a sorrowful sound. So he came to it and embraced it, and it calmed down. He said:` “If I had not embraced it, it would have continued to grieve until the Day of Resurrection.”
Hadith 1491
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : مُرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجِنَازَةٍ ، فَأُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا ، فَقَالَ : " وَجَبَتْ " ، ثُمَّ مُرَّ عَلَيْهِ بِجِنَازَةٍ ، فَأُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا ، فَقَالَ : " وَجَبَتْ " ، فَقِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قُلْتَ لِهَذِهِ : وَجَبَتْ ، وَلِهَذِهِ : وَجَبَتْ ، فَقَالَ : " شَهَادَةُ الْقَوْمِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ شُهُودُ اللَّهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “A funeral (procession) passed by the Prophet (ﷺ) and they praised (the deceased) and spoke well of him. He said: ‘(Paradise is) guaranteed for him.’ Then another funeral passed by and they spoke badly of him, and he (the Prophet (ﷺ)) said: ‘(Hell is) guaranteed for him.’ It was said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, you said that (Paradise was) guaranteed for this one and that (Hell was) guaranteed for the other one.’ He said: ‘It is the testimony of the people, and the believers are the witnesses of Allah on earth.’”
Hadith 1527
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَوْدَاءَ كَانَتْ تَقُمُّ الْمَسْجِدَ فَفَقَدَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَأَلَ عَنْهَا بَعْدَ أَيَّامٍ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : إِنَّهَا مَاتَتْ ، قَالَ : " فَهَلَّا آذَنْتُمُونِي ؟ فَأَتَى قَبْرَهَا فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that a black woman used to sweep the mosque. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) noticed she was missing and he asked about her after a few days. He was told that she had died. He said:` “Why did you not tell me?” Then he went to her grave and offered the funeral prayer for her.
Hadith 1531
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَّى عَلَى قَبْرٍ بَعْدَ مَا قُبِرَ " .
It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet (ﷺ) offered the funeral prayer at a grave after the burial.
Hadith 1629
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا وَجَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ كَرْبِ الْمَوْتِ مَا وَجَدَ ، قَالَتْ فَاطِمَةُ : وَا كَرْبَ أَبَتَاهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا كَرْبَ عَلَى أَبِيكِ بَعْدَ الْيَوْمِ ، إِنَّهُ قَدْ حَضَرَ مِنْ أَبِيكِ مَا لَيْسَ بِتَارِكٍ مِنْهُ أَحَدًا الْمُوَافَاةُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) suffered the agonies of death that he suffered, Fatimah said: ‘O my father, what a severe agony!’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Your father will suffer no more agony after this day. There has come to your father that which no one can avoid, the death that everyone will encounter until the Day of Resurrection.’”
Hadith 1630
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَال : قَالَتْ لِي فَاطِمَةُ : " يَا أَنَسُ كَيْفَ سَخَتْ أَنْفُسُكُمْ أَنْ تَحْثُوا التُّرَابَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ " . (حديث موقوف) (حديث موقوف) وحَدَّثَنَا وحَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ ، قَالَتْ حِينَ قُبِضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَا أَبَتَاهُ إِلَى جِبْرَائِيلَ أَنْعَاهُ ، وَا أَبَتَاهُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ مَا أَدْنَاهُ ، وَا أَبَتَاهُ جَنَّةُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ مَأْوَاهُ ، وَا أَبَتَاهُ أَجَابَ رَبًّا دَعَاهُ " ، قَالَ حَمَّادٌ : فَرَأَيْتُ ثَابِتًا حِينَ حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ بَكَى حَتَّى رَأَيْتُ أَضْلَاعَهُ تَخْتَلِفُ .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “Fatimah said to me: ‘O Anas, how did you manage to scatter dust on the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)?’” And Thabit narrated to us from Anas that Fatimah said: “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed away: ‘O my father! To Jibra’il we announce his death; O my father, how much closer he is now to his Lord; O my father, the Paradise of Firdaws is his abode; O my father, he has answered the call of his Lord.” (One of the narrators) Hammad said: "I saw Thabit, when he narrated this Hadith, weeping until I could see his ribs moving up and down."
Hadith 1631
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الصَّوَّافُ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الضُّبَعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي دَخَلَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ أَضَاءَ مِنْهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ أَظْلَمَ مِنْهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ ، وَمَا نَفَضْنَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَيْدِيَ حَتَّى أَنْكَرْنَا قُلُوبَنَا " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` “On the day when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered Al-Madinah, everything was lit up, and on the day when he died, everything went dark, and no sooner had we dusted off our hands (after burying him) but we felt that our hearts had changed.”*
Hadith 1635
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلَّالُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعُمَرَ : انْطَلِقْ بِنَا إِلَى أُمِّ أَيْمَنَ نَزُورُهَا كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَزُورُهَا " ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَيْهَا بَكَتْ ، فَقَالَا لَهَا : " مَا يُبْكِيكِ فَمَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِرَسُولِهِ ؟ " ، قَالَتْ : إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِرَسُولِهِ ، وَلَكِنْ أَبْكِي أَنَّ الْوَحْيَ قَدِ انْقَطَعَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ ، قَالَ : فَهَيَّجَتْهُمَا عَلَى الْبُكَاءِ ، فَجَعَلَا يَبْكِيَانِ مَعَهَا .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` “After the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had died, Abu Bakr said to ‘Umar: ‘Let us go and visit Umm Ayman as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to visit her.’ He said: ‘When we reached her she wept.’ They said: ‘Why are you weeping? What is with Allah is better for His Messenger.’ She said: ‘I know that what is with Allah is better for His Messenger, but I am weeping because the Revelation from heaven has ceased.’ She moved them to tears and they started to weep with her.”
Hadith 1770
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يَعْتَكِفُ الْعَشْرَ الْأَوَاخِرَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ ، فَسَافَرَ عَامًا ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ مِنَ الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ اعْتَكَفَ عِشْرِينَ يَوْمًا " .
´It was narrated from Ubayy bin Ka’b that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) used to spend the last ten days of Ramadan in I’tikaf. One year he was traveling, so the following year he spent twenty days in I’tikaf.
Hadith 1865
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلَّالُ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ ثابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ ، أَرَادَ أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا ، فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا " فَفَعَلَ ، فَتَزَوَّجَهَا ، فَذَكَرَ مِنْ مُوَافَقَتِهَا .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that:` Mughirah bin Shubah wanted to marry a woman. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: “Go and look at her, for that is more likely to create love between you.” So he did that, and married her, and mentioned how well he got along with her.
Hadith 1866
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ امْرَأَةً أَخْطُبُهَا ، فَقَالَ : " اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا ، فَإِنَّهُ أَجْدَرُ أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا " ، فَأَتَيْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَخَطَبْتُهَا إِلَى أَبَوَيْهَا ، وَأَخْبَرْتُهُمَا بِقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَكَأَنَّهُمَا كَرِهَا ذَلِكَ ، قَالَ : فَسَمِعَتْ ذَلِكَ الْمَرْأَةُ وَهِيَ فِي خِدْرِهَا ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تَنْظُرَ فَانْظُرْ ، وَإِلَّا فَإِنِّي أَنْشُدُكَ كَأَنَّهَا أَعْظَمَتْ ذَلِكَ ، قَالَ : فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهَا ، فَتَزَوَّجْتُهَا ، فَذَكَرَ مِنْ مُوَافَقَتِهَا .
´It was narrated that:` Mughirah bin Shubah said: “I came to the Prophet and told him of a woman to whom I had to propose marriage. He said: 'Go and look at her, for that is more likely to create love between you.' So I went to a woman among the Ansar and proposed marriage through her parents. I told them what the Prophet had said, and it was as if they did not like that. Then I heard that woman, behind her curtain, say: 'If the Messenger of Allah has told you to do that, then do it, otherwise I adjure you by Allah (not to do so)'. And it was as if she regarded that as a serious matter. So I looked at her and married her.” And he mentioned how well he got along with her.
Hadith 1885
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا شِغَارَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that:` the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no Shighar in Islam.”
Hadith 1907
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِ?ُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : رَأَى عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَثَرَ صُفْرَةٍ ، فَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا ، أَوْ مَهْ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى وَزْنِ نَوَاةٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ، فَقَالَ : " بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ ، أَوْلِمْ وَلَوْ بِشَاةٍ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik:` the Prophet saw traces of yellow perfume on 'Abdur-Rahmaan bin 'Awf, and he asked him “What is this?” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, I married a women for the weight of a Nawah (Stone) of gold. He said: “May Allah bless you. Give a feast even if it is only with one sheep.”
Hadith 1908
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوْلَمَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ مَا أَوْلَمَ عَلَى زَيْنَبَ ، فَإِنَّهُ ذَبَحَ شَاةً " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “I never saw the Messenger of Allah give a wedding feast for any of his wives like the feast he gave for Zainab, for which he slaughtered a sheep.”
Hadith 1957
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " صَارَتْ صَفِيَّةُ لِدِحْيَةَ الْكَلْبِيِّ ، ثُمَّ صَارَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدُ ، فَتَزَوَّجَهَا ، وَجَعَلَ عِتْقَهَا صَدَاقَهَا " ، قَالَ حَمَّادٌ ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ لِثَابِتٍ : يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ أَنْتَ سَأَلْتَ أَنَسًا مَا أَمْهَرَهَا ؟ ، قَالَ : أَمْهَرَهَا نَفْسَهَا " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` “Safiyyah was given to Dihyah Al-Kalbi (as his share of the war booty), then she was given to the Messenger of Allah after that. He married her, and made her ransom (i.e., freedom from slavery) her dowry.” (Sahih)Hammad said: “Abdul-'Aziz said to Thabit: 'O Abu Muhammad! Did you ask Anas what her bridal-money was?' He said: 'Her bridal-money was her freedom.' ”
Hadith 1973
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ سُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَدَ عَلَى صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ حُيَيٍّ فِي شَيْءٍ ، فَقَالَتْ صَفِيَّةُ : يَا عَائِشَةُ ، هَلْ لَكِ أَنْ تُرْضِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِّي وَلَكِ يَوْمِي ؟ ، قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ ، فَأَخَذَتْ خِمَارًا لَهَا مَصْبُوغًا بِزَعْفَرَانٍ ، فَرَشَّتْهُ بِالْمَاءِ لِيَفُوحَ رِيحُهُ ، ثُمَّ قَعَدَتْ إِلَى جَنْبِ رَسُولُ اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا عَائِشَةُ إِلَيْكِ عَنِّي إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ يَوْمَكِ " ، فَقَالَتْ : ذَلِكَ فَضْلُ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ، فَأَخْبَرَتْهُ بِالْأَمْرِ فَرَضِيَ عَنْهَا .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah:` that the Messenger of Allah became angry with Safiyyah bint Huyai for something, and Safiyyah said: "O 'Aishah, can you make the Messenger of Allah be pleased with me, and I will give you my day?" She said: "Yes." So she took a headcover of hers that was dyed with saffron and sprinkled it with water so that its fragrance would become stronger, then she sat beside the Messenger of Allah. The Prophet said: "O 'Aishah, go away, because it is not your day!" She said: "That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases." Then she told him about that matter and he was pleased with her.
Hadith 2001
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْحُومُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ وَعِنْدَهُ ابْنَةٌ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ : جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَرَضَتْ نَفْسَهَا عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ لَكَ فِيَّ حَاجَةٌ ؟ ، فَقَالَتِ ابْنَتُهُ : مَا أَقَلَّ حَيَاءَهَا ، قَالَ : " هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكِ رَغِبَتْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَعَرَضَتْ نَفْسَهَا عَلَيْهِ " .
´Thabit said:` “We were sitting with Anas bin Mahk, and a daughter of his was with him. Anas said: 'A woman came to the Prophet and offered herself to him. She said: " O Messenger of Allah, do you have any need of me?"' His daughter said: 'How little modesty she had!' He said: 'She was better than you, because she wanted (to marry) the Messenger of Allah, and she offered herself to him. "
Hadith 2150
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، وَالْحَجَّاجُ ، وَالْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " كَانَ زَكَرِيَّا نَجَّارًا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "Zakariyya was a carpenter."
Hadith 2200
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، وَحُمَيْدٌ وَثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : غَلَا السِّعْرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَدْ غَلَا السِّعْرُ فَسَعِّرْ لَنَا ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمُسَعِّرُ الْقَابِضُ الْبَاسِطُ الرَّازِقُ ، إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو ، أَنْ أَلْقَى رَبِّي وَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ يَطْلُبُنِي بِمَظْلَمَةٍ فِي دَمٍ وَلَا مَالٍ " .
´It was nanated that Anas bin Malik said:` "Prices rose during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, prices have risen, so fix the prices for us.' He said: 'Indeed Allah is the Musa'ir, [1] the Qabid, (Restrainer) the Basit,[2] the Razzaq (Provider). And I am hopeful that I meet my Lord and none of you are seeking (recompense from) me for an injustice involving blood or wealth."
Hadith 2272
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اشْتَرَى صَفِيَّةَ بِسَبْعَةِ أَرْؤُسٍ " ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ : مِنْ دِحْيَةَ الْكَلْبِيِّ .
´It was narrated from Anas that :` the Prophet (ﷺ) bought Safiyyah for seven slaves. (Sahih) (One of the narrators) 'Abdur-Rahman said: "From Dihyah Kalbi.'
Hadith 2471
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، وَهِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ أَصْوَاتًا فَقَالَ : " مَا هَذَا الصَّوْتُ " قَالُوا : النَّخْلُ يُؤَبِّرُونَهَا ، فَقَالَ : " لَوْ لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا لَصَلَحَ " فَلَمْ يُؤَبِّرُوا عَامَئِذٍ فَصَارَ شِيصًا ، فَذَكَرُوا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " إِنْ كَانَ شَيْئًا مِنْ أَمْرِ دُنْيَاكُمْ فَشَأْنُكُمْ بِهِ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أُمُورِ دِينِكُمْ فَإِلَيَّ " .
´It was narrated from 'Aisha that the Prophet (ﷺ) heard some sounds and said:` “What is this noise?” They said: “Palm trees that are being pollinated.” He said: “If they did not do that it would be better.” So they did not pollinate them that year, and the dates did not mature properly. they mentioned that to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said: “If it is one of the matters of your religion, then refer to me.”
Hadith 2772
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : ذُكِرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " كَانَ أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ ، وَكَانَ أَجْوَدَ النَّاسِ ، وَكَانَ أَشْجَعَ النَّاسِ ، وَلَقَدْ فَزِعَ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ لَيْلَةً فَانْطَلَقُوا قِبَلَ الصَّوْتِ فَتَلَقَّاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَدْ سَبَقَهُمْ إِلَى الصَّوْتِ وَهُوَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ عُرْيٍ مَا عَلَيْهِ سَرْجٌ فِي عُنُقِهِ السَّيْفُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لَنْ تُرَاعُوا " يَرُدُّهُمْ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ لِلْفَرَسِ : " وَجَدْنَاهُ بَحْرًا ، أَوْ إِنَّهُ لَبَحْرٌ " . قَالَ حَمَّادٌ ، وَحَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتٌ ، أَوْ غَيْرُهُ قَالَ : كَانَ فَرَسًا لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ يُبَطَّأُ فَمَا سُبِقَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ .
´It was narrated from Hammad bin Zaid from Thabit, that the Prophet (ﷺ) was mentioned before Anas bin Malik and he said:` “He was the best of people, the most generous of people, the most courageous of people. The people of Al-Madinah became alarmed one night, and he was the first of them to investigate the noise and din. He was riding a horse belonging to Abu Talhah, bareback, with no saddle. His sword was hanging from his neck and he was saying: ‘O people, do not be afraid,’ sending them back to their houses. Then he said of the horse, ‘We found it like a sea,’ or, ‘It is a sea.’”*
Hadith 2793
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا دَيْلَمُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : حَضَرْتُ حَرْبًا فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ : يَا نَفْسِ أَلَا أَرَاكِ تَكْرَهِينَ الْجَنَّهْ أَحْلِفُ بِاللَّهِ لَتَنْزِلِنَّهْ طَائِعَةً أَوْ لَتُكْرَهِنَّهْ .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “I was present in a war, and ‘Abdullah bin Rawahah said: O soul of mine! I see that you do Not want to go to Paradise. I swear by Allah that you surely Will enter it, willingly or Unwillingly.’”
Hadith 2917
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، وَعُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي عِنْدَ ثَفِنَاتِ نَاقَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ الشَّجَرَةِ ، فَلَمَّا اسْتَوَتْ بِهِ قَائِمَةً ، قَالَ : لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحِجَّةٍ مَعًا ، وَذَلِكَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “I was by the knees of the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), at Shajarah. When it rose up with him, he said: ‘Labbaika bi ‘Umrah wa Hajjah ma’an [Here I am (O Allah) for ‘Umrah and Hajj together].’ That was during the Farewell Pilgrimage.”
Hadith 3434
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ , وَسُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ , عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ , عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبَاحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَاقِي الْقَوْمِ آخِرُهُمْ شُرْبًا " .
´It was narrated from Abu Qatadah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The oen who serves water to others should be the last one to drink from it.”
Hadith 3962
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ , عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ ثَابِتٍ , أَوْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جَدْعَانَ , شَكَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ , عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ , قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْلَمَةَ , فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ فِتْنَةٌ وَفُرْقَةٌ وَاخْتِلَافٌ , فَإِذَا كَانَ كَذَلِكَ فَأْتِ بِسَيْفِكَ أُحُدًا فَاضْرِبْهُ حَتَّى يَنْقَطِعَ , ثُمَّ اجْلِسْ فِي بَيْتِكَ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَكَ يَدٌ خَاطِئَةٌ , أَوْ مَنِيَّةٌ قَاضِيَةٌ " , فَقَدْ وَقَعَتْ وَفَعَلْتُ مَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
´It was narrated that Abu Burdah said:` “I entered upon Muhammad bin Maslamah and he said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘There will be tribulation, division and dissension. When that comes, take your sword to Uhud and strike it until it breaks, then sit in your house until there comes to you the hand of the evildoer (to kill you) or a predestined (natural) death.’” "And that came to pass, and I did as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said."
Hadith 4104
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ , عَنْ ثَابِتٍ , عَنْ أَنَسٍ , قَالَ : اشْتَكَى سَلْمَانُ , فَعَادَهُ سَعْدٌ فَرَآهُ يَبْكِي , فَقَالَ لَهُ سَعْدٌ : مَا يُبْكِيكَ يَا أَخِي , أَلَيْسَ قَدْ صَحِبْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ أَلَيْسَ أَلَيْسَ , قَالَ سَلْمَانُ : مَا أَبْكِي وَاحِدَةً مِنَ اثْنَتَيْنِ , مَا أَبْكِي ضِنًّا لِلدُّنْيَا , وَلَا كَرَاهِيَةً لِلْآخِرَةِ , وَلَكِنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ عَهْدًا فَمَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا قَدْ تَعَدَّيْتُ , قَالَ : وَمَا عَهِدَ إِلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : " عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ يَكْفِي أَحَدَكُمْ مِثْلُ زَادِ الرَّاكِبِ , وَلَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا قَدْ تَعَدَّيْتُ , وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا سَعْدُ , فَاتَّقِ اللَّهَ عِنْدَ حُكْمِكَ إِذَا حَكَمْتَ , وَعِنْدَ قَسْمِكَ إِذَا قَسَمْتَ , وَعِنْدَ هَمِّكَ إِذَا هَمَمْتَ " , قَالَ ثَابِتٌ : فَبَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ مَا تَرَكَ إِلَّا بِضْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ دِرْهَمًا , مِنْ نَفَقَةٍ كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ .
´It was narrated from Thabit that Anas said:` “Salman felt sick and Sa’d came to visit him, and when he saw him he wept. Sa’d said to him: ‘Why are you weeping, my brother? Are you not a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? Are you not? Are you not?’ Salman said: ‘I am only weeping for one reason: I am not weeping because of longing for this world or for dislike of the Hereafter. But the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave me some advice and I think that I have transgressed.’ He said: ‘What was his advice to you?’ He said: ‘He advised me that something like the provision of a rider is sufficient for anyone of you, and I think that I have transgressed that. As for you, O Sa’d, fear Allah when you pass a verdict, and when you distribute (spoils of war), and when you decide to do anything.’”
Hadith 4185
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلَّالُ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ , أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ , عَنْ ثَابِتٍ , عَنْ أَنَسٍ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " مَا كَانَ الْفُحْشُ فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا شَانَهُ , وَلَا كَانَ الْحَيَاءُ فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا زَانَهُ " .
´It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “There is never any obscenity in a thing, but it mars it, and there is never any modesty in a thing, but it adorns it.”
Hadith 4261
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارٌ , حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ , عَنْ ثَابِتٍ , عَنْ أَنَسٍ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَى شَابٍّ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَوْتِ , فَقَالَ : " كَيْفَ تَجِدُكَ " , قَالَ : أَرْجُو اللَّهَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , وَأَخَافُ ذُنُوبِي , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ فِي قَلْبِ عَبْدٍ فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا الْمَوْطِنِ , إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ اللَّهُ مَا يَرْجُو, وَآمَنَهُ مِمَّا يَخَافُ " .
´It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet (ﷺ) entered upon a young man who was dying and said:` “How do you feel?” He said: “I have hope in Allah, O Messenger of Allah, but I fear my sins.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “These two things (hope and fear) do not coexist in the heart of a person in a situation like this, but Allah will give him that which he hopes for and keep him safe from that which he fears.”
