Hadith 993
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، وَبِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَوُّوا صُفُوفَكُمْ ، فَإِنَّ تَسْوِيَةَ الصُّفُوفِ مِنْ تَمَامِ الصَّلَاةِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Make your rows straight, for straightening the rows is part of completing the prayer.’”
Hadith 1230
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ فَرَأَى أُنَاسًا يُصَلُّونَ قُعُودًا ، فَقَالَ : " صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out and saw some people praying while sitting down. He said:` “The prayer of one who sits down is equivalent to half of the prayer of one who stands.”
Hadith 1961
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَالْحَسَنِ ابْنَيْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ : " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ ، وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْإِنْسِيَّةِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abu Talib that:` The Messenger of Allah forbade on the Day of Khaibar, the temporary marriage of women and (he forbade) the flesh of domestic donkeys.
Hadith 2677
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، سَمِعْتُ مَالِكَ بْنَ أَنَسٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو لَيْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ رِجَالٍ مِنْ كُبَرَاءِ قَوْمِهِ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَهْلٍ وَمُحَيِّصَةَ خَرَجَا إِلَى خَيْبَرَ مِنْ جَهْدٍ أَصَابَهُمْ فَأُتِيَ مُحَيِّصَةُ فَأُخْبِرَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَهْلٍ قَدْ قُتِلَ وَأُلْقِيَ فِي فَقِيرٍ أَوْ عَيْنٍ بِخَيْبَرَ فَأَتَى يَهُودَ فَقَالَ : أَنْتُمْ وَاللَّهِ قَتَلْتُمُوهُ ، قَالُوا : وَاللَّهِ مَا قَتَلْنَاهُ ، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ حَتَّى قَدِمَ عَلَى قَوْمِهِ ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ هُوَ وَأَخُوهُ حُوَيِّصَةُ وَهُوَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْهُ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَهْلٍ فَذَهَبَ مُحَيِّصَةُ يَتَكَلَّمُ وَهُوَ الَّذِي كَانَ بِخَيْبَرَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِمُحَيِّصَةَ : " كَبِّرْ ، كَبِّرْ " يُرِيدُ السِّنَّ ، فَتَكَلَّمَ حُوَيِّصَةُ ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ مُحَيِّصَةُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِمَّا أَنْ يَدُوا صَاحِبَكُمْ ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ يُؤْذَنُوا بِحَرْبٍ " فَكَتَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيْهِمْ فِي ذَلِكَ ، فَكَتَبُوا : إِنَّا وَاللَّهِ مَا قَتَلْنَاهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِحُوَيِّصَةَ : وَمُحَيِّصَةَ وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : " تَحْلِفُونَ وَتَسْتَحِقُّونَ دَمَ صَاحِبِكُمْ ؟ " قَالُوا : لَا ، قَالَ : " فَتَحْلِفُ لَكُمْ يَهُودُ ؟ " قَالُوا : لَيْسُوا بِمُسْلِمِينَ ، فَوَدَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ ، فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِائَةَ نَاقَةٍ حَتَّى أُدْخِلَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الدَّارَ . فَقَالَ سَهْلٌ : فَلَقَدْ رَكَضَتْنِي مِنْهَا نَاقَةٌ حَمْرَاءُ .
´It was narrated from Sahl bin Abu Hathmah from the elders of his people that :` 'Abdullah bin Sahl and Muhayyishah set out for Khaibar because of some problem that had arisen. Someone came to Muhayyishah, and he told him that Abdullah bin Sahl had been killed and thrown into a pit or well in Khaibar. He came to the Jews and said: “By Allah, you killed him.” They said: “By Allah, we did not kill him.” Then he went back to his people and told them about that. Then he and his brother Huwayyisah, who was older than him, and 'Abdur-Rahman bin Sahl, came (to the Prophet (ﷺ)). Muhayyisah, who was the one who had been at Khaibar, went and he began to speak, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Let the elder speak first.” So Huwayyisah spoke, then Muhayyisah spoke. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Either (the Jews) will pay the blood money for your companion, or war will be declared on them.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent a letter to that effect (to the Jews) and they wrote back saying: “By Allah, we did not kill him.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Huwayyisah, Muhayyisah and Abdur-Rahman: “Will you swear an oath establishing your claim to the blood money of your companion?” They said: “No” He said: “Should the Jews swear an oath for you?” They said: “They are not Muslims.” So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) paid the blood money himself, and he sent one hundred she-camels to them and some of them entered the house. Sahl said: “A red she-camels from among them kicked me.”
Hadith 3529
حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا اشْتَكَى , يَقْرَأُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ : بِالْمُعَوِّذَاتِ , وَيَنْفُثُ , فَلَمَّا اشْتَدَّ وَجَعُهُ , كُنْتُ أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَمْسَحُ بِيَدِهِ رَجَاءَ بَرَكَتِهَا " .
´It was narrated from ‘Aishah:` “Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) fell ill, he would recite the Mu’awwidhat and blow, and when his pain grew worse, I would recite over him and wipe his hand over him, hoping for its blessing.”
Hadith 3554
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ , عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ , عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ , عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , قَالَتْ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسُبُّ أَحَدًا , وَلَا يُطْوَى لَهُ ثَوْبٌ " .
´It was narrated that ‘Aishah said:` “I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) insulting anyone, and no garment was ever folded up for him.”*
Hadith 4146
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ , حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ سِمَاكٍ , عَنْ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ , يَقُولُ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَلْتَوِي فِي الْيَوْمِ مِنَ الْجُوعِ , مَا يَجِدُ مِنَ الدَّقَلِ مَا يَمْلَأُ بِهِ بَطْنَهُ " .
´It was narrated that Nu’man bin Bashir said:` “I heard ‘Umar bin Khattab say: ‘I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) writhing with hunger during the day, and he could not even find the worst of dates with which to fill his stomach.’”
Hadith 4189
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ , حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ , عَنْ الْحَسَنِ , عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْ جُرْعَةٍ أَعْظَمُ أَجْرًا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ , مِنْ جُرْعَةِ غَيْظٍ كَظَمَهَا عَبْدٌ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “There is no gulp that brings greater reward with Allah than a gulp of anger that a man swallows (suppresses), seeking thereby the Face of Allah.”
