Hadith 234
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْقُشَيْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا لِيُبَلِّغْ الشَّاهِدُ الْغَائِبَ ؟ " .
´Bahz bin Hakim narrated from his father that his grandfather Mu'awiyah Al-Qushairi said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Let the one who is present convey to the one who is absent.'"
Hadith 801
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَغْرِبَ ، فَرَجَعَ مَنْ رَجَعَ ، وَعَقَّبَ مَنْ عَقَّبَ ، فَجَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسْرِعًا قَدْ حَفَزَهُ النَّفَسُ ، وَقَدْ حَسَرَ عَنْ رُكْبَتَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَبْشِرُوا ، هَذَا رَبُّكُمْ قَدْ فَتَحَ بَابًا مِنْ أَبْوَابِ السَّمَاءِ يُبَاهِي بِكُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " انْظُرُوا إِلَى عِبَادِي قَدْ قَضَوْا فَرِيضَةً ، وَهُمْ يَنْتَظِرُونَ أُخْرَى " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said:` "We performed the Maghrib (prayer) with the Messenger of Allah, then those who went back went back, and those who stayed, stayed. Then the Messenger of Allah came back in a hurry, out of breath, with his garment pulled up to his knees, and said: 'Be of good cheer, for your Lord has opened one of the gates of heaven and is boasting of you before the angels, saying: "Look at My slaves; they have fulfilled one obligatory duty and are awaiting another."
Hadith 1019
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نُسَلِّمُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقِيلَ لَنَا : إِنَّ فِي الصَّلَاةِ لَشُغْلًا " .
´It was narrated that ‘Abdullah said:` “We would greet others during the prayer, and it was said to us: ‘During the prayer one is preoccupied.’”
Hadith 1199
حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ اضْطَجَعَ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` “When the Messenger of Allah (saw prayed the two (Sunnah) Rak’ah of Fajr, he would lie down.”
Hadith 2428
حَدَّثَنَا هَدِيَّةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْهِرْمَاسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِغَرِيمٍ لِي ، فَقَالَ لِي : " الْزَمْهُ " ، ثُمَّ مَرَّ بِي آخِرَ النَّهَارِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا فَعَلَ أَسِيرُكَ يَا أَخَا بَنِي تَمِيمٍ " .
´Hirmas bin Habib narrated from his father that his grandfather said:` “I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) with a man who owed me money, and he said to me: 'Keep him.' Then he passed by me at the end of the day and said: 'What did your prisoner do, O brother of Banu Tamim?' ”
Hadith 2654
حَدَّثَنَا رَجَاءُ بْنُ الْمُرَجَّى السَّمَرْقَنْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ غَالِبٍ التَّمَّارِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْأَصَابِعُ سَوَاءٌ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “The fingers are the same.”
Hadith 2666
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ " أَنَّ يَهُودِيًّا قَتَلَ جَارِيَةً عَلَى أَوْضَاحٍ لَهَا ، فَقَالَ لَهَا : أَقَتَلَكِ فُلَانٌ ؟ فَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَنْ لَا ، ثُمَّ سَأَلَهَا الثَّانِيَةَ فَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَنْ لَا ، ثُمَّ سَأَلَهَا الثَّالِثَةَ فَأَشَارَتْ بِرَأْسِهَا أَنْ نَعَمْ ، فَقَتَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ حَجَرَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that :` a Jew killed a girl for her jewelry. He asked her (as she was dying): “Did so-and-so kill you?” and she gestured with her head to say no. Then he asked her again, and she gestured with her head to say no. he asked her a third time and she gestured with her head to say yes. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) killed him (by crushing his head) between two rocks.
Hadith 2680
حَدَّثَنَا رَجَاءُ بْنُ الْمُرَجَّى السَّمَرْقَنْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَارِخًا ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا لَكَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : سَيِّدِي رَآنِي أُقَبِّلُ جَارِيَةً لَهُ ، فَجَبَّ مَذَاكِيرِي ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَيَّ بِالرَّجُلِ " ، فَطُلِبَ فَلَمْ يُقْدَرْ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اذْهَبْ فَأَنْتَ حُرٌّ " ، قَالَ : عَلَى مَنْ نُصْرَتِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : يَقُولُ : أَرَأَيْتَ إِنِ اسْتَرَقَّنِي مَوْلَايَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَى كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ أَوْ مُسْلِمٍ " .
´'Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father that his grandfather said:` “A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) screaming. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to him: 'What is the matter with you?' He said: 'My master saw me kissing a slave woman of his, so he cut off my penis.' The Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Take me to the man.' He was sought but could not be found, so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Go, for you are free.' He said: 'Who will protect me, O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? What if my master enslaves me again?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Your protection will be (incumbent upon) every believer or Muslim.'”
Hadith 3492
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ غُنْدَرٌ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ , حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ , قال : سَمِعَتُ عَمِّي يَحْيَى , وَمَا أَدْرَكْتُ رَجُلًا مِنَّا بِهِ شَبِيهًا يُحَدِّثُ النَّاسَ , أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ زُرَارَةَ وَهُوَ جَدُّ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ قِبَلِ أُمِّهِ , أَنَّهُ أَخَذَهُ وَجَعٌ فِي حَلْقِهِ يُقَالُ لَهُ : الذُّبْحَةُ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَأُبْلِغَنَّ أَوْ لَأُبْلِيَنَّ فِي أَبِي أُمَامَةَ عُذْرًا " , فَكَوَاهُ بِيَدِهِ فَمَاتَ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مِيتَةَ سَوْءٍ لِلْيَهُودِ , يَقُولُونَ : أَفَلَا دَفَعَ عَنْ صَاحِبِهِ , وَمَا أَمْلِكُ لَهُ وَلَا لِنَفْسِي شَيْئًا " .
´Muhammad bin ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Sa’d bin Zurarah Al-Ansari said:` “I heard my paternal uncle Yahya – and I have not seen a man among us like him – tell the people that Sa'd bin Zurarah, who was the grandfather of Muhammad through his mother, was suffering from pain in his throat, known as croup. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘I shall do my best for Abu Umamah.’ Such that I will be excused (i.e., free of blame if he is not healed). And he cauterized him with his own hand, but he died. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘May the Jews be doomed! They will say: “Why could he not avert death from his Companions?” But I have no power to do anything for him or for my own self.’”
Hadith 4232
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ , حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ , أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ , قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ , يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ وَهَذَا أَجَلُهُ عِنْدَ قَفَاهُ " , وَبَسَطَ يَدَهُ أَمَامَهُ , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " وَثَمَّ أَمَلُهُ " .
´Anas bin Malik narrated the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “This is the son of Adam, and this is his life span at his neck,’ then he spread his hand in front of him and said: ‘And there is his hope.”
