Hadith 428
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ التِّنِّيسِيُّ الشَّأْمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي الْعَلَاءُ هُوَ : ابْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، قَال : سَمِعْتُ أُخْتِي أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، تَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ حَافَظَ عَلَى أَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَأَرْبَعٍ بَعْدَهَا حَرَّمَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّارِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ، وَالْقَاسِمُ هُوَ : ابْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُكْنَى أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، وَهُوَ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ شَأْمِيٌّ ، وَهُوَ صَاحِبُ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ .
´Umm Habibah the wife of the Prophet (S) narrated that:` She heard Allah's Messenger (S) saying: "Whoever maintains four Rak'ah before Az-Zuhr and four after it, Allah makes him prohibited for the Fire."
Hadith 1282
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَبِيعُوا الْقَيْنَاتِ ، وَلَا تَشْتَرُوهُنَّ ، وَلَا تُعَلِّمُوهُنَّ ، وَلَا خَيْرَ فِي تِجَارَةٍ فِيهِنَّ ، وَثَمَنُهُنَّ حَرَامٌ ". فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ : وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ سورة لقمان آية 6 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ . قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : حَدِيثُ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ إِنَّمَا نَعْرِفُهُ مِثْلَ هَذَا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ، وَقَدْ تَكَلَّمَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ فِي عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ وَضَعَّفَهُ وَهُوَ شَامِيٌّ .
Narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not sell or buy singing slave girls, and do not teach them (singing) 1. There is no good or blessing in their trade, and their price is unlawful. And regarding such things, this verse was revealed: «ومن الناس من يشتري لهو الحديث ليضل عن سبيل الله» 'And among mankind is he who purchases idle talk to mislead (men) from the path of Allah' (Luqman: 6)." © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- We know the hadith of Abu Umamah only through this chain, and some scholars have spoken about Ali bin Yazid and have declared him weak. And he is from the people of Sham (Greater Syria).
2- There is also a narration in this chapter from Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hadith 1624
حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، جَعَلَ اللَّهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ خَنْدَقًا كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ " ، هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ .
Abu Umamah Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts for one day while in jihad, Allah Almighty will place between him and the Fire a trench like the distance between the earth and the sky." This hadith is gharib through the narration of Abu Umamah.
Hadith 1626
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ الطَّائِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " خِدْمَةُ عَبْدٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَوْ ظِلُّ فُسْطَاطٍ ، أَوْ طَرُوقَةُ فَحْلٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مُرْسَلًا ، وَخُولِفَ زَيْدٌ فِي بَعْضِ إِسْنَادِهِ .
It is narrated from ‘Adi bin Hatim Ta’i (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Which charity is the best? He replied: “Giving a slave as a gift in the way of Allah (to a Mujahid), or providing shade with a tent (for the Mujahideen), or giving a young she-camel in the way of Allah.” © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith has also come from Mu’awiyah bin Salih through a mursal chain,
2- In some chains (turuq), Zaid (bin Hubab) has been contradicted; this hadith has been narrated by Walid bin Jameel from Qasim Abu Abdur Rahman, Qasim from Abu Umamah, and Abu Umamah from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him); this hadith has been narrated to us by Ziyad bin Ayyub.
1- This hadith has also come from Mu’awiyah bin Salih through a mursal chain,

Hadith 1627
قَالَ : وَرَوَى الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِذَلِكَ زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَاتِ : ظِلُّ فُسْطَاطٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَمَنِيحَةُ خَادِمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَوْ طَرُوقَةُ فَحْلٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ ، وَهُوَ أَصَحُّ عِنْدِي مِنْ حَدِيثِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ .
Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Providing shade with a tent for those engaged in jihad, giving a servant as a gift, and donating a young she-camel are the best and most superior forms of charity." __REF_N__ Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is hasan sahih gharib,
2- In my view, it is more authentic than the narration of Mu'awiyah bin Salih.

Hadith 1669
حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ الْفِلَسْطِينِيُّ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللهِ مِنْ قَطْرَتَيْنِ ، وَأَثَرَيْنِ : قَطْرَةٌ مِنْ دُمُوعٍ فِي خَشْيَةِ اللهِ ، وَقَطْرَةُ دَمٍ تُهَرَاقُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ، وَأَمَّا الْأَثَرَانِ : فَأَثَرٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ، وَأَثَرٌ فِي فَرِيضَةٍ مِنْ فَرَائِضِ اللهِ " ، قَالَ : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ .
Narrated from Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is nothing more beloved to Allah Almighty than two drops and two marks: a drop of tears that falls out of fear of Allah, and a drop of blood that is shed in the way of Allah. Of the two marks, one is the mark that is received in the way of Allah, and the other is the mark that is received while fulfilling one of the obligations of Allah." © Imam Tirmidhi says: This hadith is Hasan Gharib.
Hadith 2347
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ أَغْبَطَ أَوْلِيَائِي عِنْدِي لَمُؤْمِنٌ خَفِيفُ الْحَاذِ ذُو حَظٍّ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ أَحْسَنَ عِبَادَةَ رَبِّهِ وَأَطَاعَهُ فِي السِّرِّ وَكَانَ غَامِضًا فِي النَّاسِ لَا يُشَارُ إِلَيْهِ بِالْأَصَابِعِ وَكَانَ رِزْقُهُ كَفَافًا فَصَبَرَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ نَفَضَ بِيَدِهِ ، فَقَالَ : عُجِّلَتْ مَنِيَّتُهُ قَلَّتْ بَوَاكِيهِ قَلَّ تُرَاثُهُ " .
´Abu Umamah narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w) said:` "Indeed the best of my friends to me is the one of meager conditions, whose share is in Salat, worshipping his Lord well and obeying him (even) in private. He is obscure among the people such that the fingers are not pointed towards him. His provisions are only what is sufficient and he is patient with that." Then he tapped with his fingers and said: "His death comes quickly, his mourners are few, and his inheritance is little."With this (the above), chain it is narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "My Lord presented to me, that He would make the valley of Makkah into gold for me, I said: 'No O Lord! But being filled for a day and hungry for a day"-or he said: "three days" or something like that- "So when I am hungry, I would beseech You and remember You, and when I am full I would be grateful to You and praise You."
Hadith 2406
حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ح وحَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , مَا النَّجَاةُ ؟ قَالَ : " أَمْسِكْ عَلَيْكَ لِسَانَكَ وَلْيَسَعْكَ بَيْتُكَ وَابْكِ عَلَى خَطِيئَتِكَ " , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ .
´'Uqbah bin 'Amir narrated:` "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! What is the means to salvation?' He said: 'That you control your tongue, suffice yourself your house, and cry over your sins.'"
Hadith 2685
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ جَمِيلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ، قَالَ : ذُكِرَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلَانِ أَحَدُهُمَا : عَابِدٌ وَالْآخَرُ عَالِمٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَضْلُ الْعَالِمِ عَلَى الْعَابِدِ كَفَضْلِي عَلَى أَدْنَاكُمْ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ وَأَهْلَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْض حَتَّى النَّمْلَةَ فِي جُحْرِهَا ، وَحَتَّى الْحُوتَ لَيُصَلُّونَ عَلَى مُعَلِّمِ النَّاسِ الْخَيْرَ " , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ , قَالَ : سَمِعْت أَبَا عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ حُرَيْثٍ الْخُزَاعِيَّ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ الْفُضَيْلَ بْنَ عِيَاضٍ , يَقُولُ : عَالِمٌ عَامِلٌ مُعَلِّمٌ يُدْعَى كَبِيرًا فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَوَاتِ .
´Narrated Abu Umamah Al-Bahili:` "Two men were mentioned before the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). One of them a worshiper, and the other a scholar. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'The superiority of the scholar over the worshiper is like my superiority over the least of you.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Indeed Allah, His Angels, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earths - even the ant in his hole, even the fish - say Salat upon the one who teaches the people to do good.'"
Hadith 2731
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تَمَامُ عِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِ أَنْ يَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ يَدَهُ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ أَوْ قَالَ : عَلَى يَدِهِ , فَيَسْأَلُهُ كَيْفَ هُوَ ، وَتَمَامُ تَحِيَّاتِكُمْ بَيْنَكُمُ الْمُصَافَحَةُ " , قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَحْرٍ ثِقَةٌ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَالْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُكْنَى : أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهُوَ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ ، وَالْقَاسِمُ شَامِيٌّ .
´Narrated Abu Umamah:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "From the complete of visiting the ill is that one of you place his hand on his forehead" - or he said - "on his hand, and ask him how he is. And shaking hands completes your greetings among each other."
Hadith 3195
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَبِيعُوا الْقَيْنَاتِ وَلَا تَشْتَرُوهُنَّ وَلَا تُعَلِّمُوهُنَّ وَلَا خَيْرَ فِي تِجَارَةٍ فِيهِنَّ وَثَمَنُهُنَّ حَرَامٌ ، وَفِي مِثْلِ هَذَا أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ : وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ سورة لقمان آية 6 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ إِنَّمَا يُرْوَى مِنْ حَدِيثِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، وَالْقَاسِمُ ثِقَةٌ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ يَزِيدَ يُضَعَّفُ فِي الْحَدِيثِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل ، يَقُولُ : الْقَاسِمُ ثِقَةٌ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ يَزِيدَ يُضَعَّفُ .
´Narrated Abu Umamah:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Do not sell the female singers, nor purchase them, nor teach them (to sing). And there is no good in trade in them, and their prices are unlawful. It was about the likes of this that this Ayah was revealed: 'And among mankind is he who purchases idle talk to divert from the way of Allah (31:6).'"
Hadith 3560
وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ .
Yahya bin Abi Ayyub narrated this hadith from Ubaidullah bin Zahr, Ubaidullah bin Zahr from Ali bin Yazid, and Ali bin Yazid from Qasim, from Abu Umamah.
