Hadith 146
وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الأَعْرَجُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعُمَرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَن النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الإِسْلَامَ بَدَأَ غَرِيبًا ، وَسَيَعُودُ غَرِيبًا ، كَمَا بَدَأَ وَهُوَ يَأْرِزُ بَيْنَ الْمَسْجِدَيْنِ ، كَمَا تَأْرِزُ الْحَيَّةُ فِي جُحْرِهَا " .
It is narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar ('Abdullah bin 'Umar) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed: Verily Islam started as something strange and it would again revert (to its old position) of being strange just as it started, and it would recede between the two mosques just as the serpent crawls back into its hole.
Hadith 1199
وحَدَّثَنِيهِ فَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، وَعُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " خَمْسٌ لَا جُنَاحَ فِي قَتْلِ مَا قُتِلَ مِنْهُنَّ فِي الْحَرَمِ " ، فَذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِهِ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Umar (peace be upon him) as saying: "Five (are the beasts) in killing which or their being killed in the precinct of the Ka’bah there is no sin." The rest of the hadith is the same.
Hadith 1671
وَحَدَّثَنِي الْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْأَعْرَجُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا سَمَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْيُنَ أُولَئِكَ لِأَنَّهُمْ سَمَلُوا أَعْيُنَ الرِّعَاءِ " .
Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) pierced their eyes because they had pierced the eyes of the shepherds.
