Hadith 1799
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَأْكُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ بِشِمَالِهِ وَلَا يَشْرَبْ بِشِمَالِهِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَأْكُلُ بِشِمَالِهِ وَيَشْرَبُ بِشِمَالِهِ " ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، وَعُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، وَسَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ ، وَأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، وَحَفْصَةَ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَهَكَذَا رَوَى مَالِكٌ ، وَابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَرَوَى مَعْمَرٌ ، وَعُقَيْلٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَرِوَايَةُ مَالِكٍ ، وَابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ أَصَحُّ .
Narrated from Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "None of you should eat with his left hand nor drink with his left hand, for Satan eats with his left hand and drinks with his left hand." 1. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is hasan sahih,
2- Likewise, Malik and Ibn Uyaynah have narrated it with the chain «الزهري عن أبي بكر بن عبيد الله عن ابن عمر», Ma'mar and 'Aqil have narrated it from Zuhri with the chain «سالم بن عبداللہ عن ابن عمر», the narration of Malik and Ibn Uyaynah is more authentic,
3- In this chapter, hadiths have also been reported from Jabir, Umar bin Abi Salamah, Salamah bin Al-Akwa', Anas bin Malik, and Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with them).
