بَابُ : فِيمَنْ لَمْ يَجِدِ الْمَاءَ وَلاَ الصَّعِيدَ

Chapter: Allah, The Mighty and Sublime, says: And We sent down pure water from the sky. [1] And He, the Mighty and Sublime, says: And He caused water to descend on you from the sky, to clean you thereby. [2] And He, the Most High, says: And you find no water, then perform Tayammum with clean earth [3]

Hadith 324
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قالت : " بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُسَيْدَ بْنَ حُضَيْرٍ وَنَاسًا يَطْلُبُونَ قِلَادَةً كَانَتْ لِعَائِشَةَ نَسِيَتْهَا فِي مَنْزِلٍ نَزَلَتْهُ ، فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَلَيْسُوا عَلَى وُضُوءٍ وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا مَاءً ، فَصَلَّوْا بِغَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ ، فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ آيَةَ التَّيَمُّمِ " . قَالَ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ : جَزَاكِ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا نَزَلَ بِكِ أَمْرٌ تَكْرَهِينَهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَلِلْمُسْلِمِينَ فِيهِ خَيْرًا .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent Usaid bin Hudair and some other people to look for a necklace that 'Aishah had left behind in a place where she had stopped (while traveling). The time for prayer came and they did not have Wudu', and they could not find any water, so they prayed without Wudu'. They mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and Allah, the Mighty and Sublime revealed the verse of Tayammum. Usaid bin Hudair said: 'May Allah reward you with good, for by Allah, nothing ever happened to you that you dislike, but Allah makes it good for you and the Muslims.'"

Hadith 325
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَنَّ مُخَارِقًا أَخْبَرَهُمْ ، عَنْ طَارِقٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَجْنَبَ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " أَصَبْتَ ، فَأَجْنَبَ رَجُلٌ آخَرَ فَتَيَمَّمَ وَصَلَّى " ، فَأَتَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : نَحْوَ مَا قَالَ لِلْآخَرِ يَعْنِي أَصَبْتَ .
´It was narrated from Tariq that a man became Junub and did not pray, then he came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and mentioned that to him. He said:` "You did the right thing." Another man became Junub and performed Tayammum and prayed, and he came to him and he said something similar to what he had told the other man - meaning, you did the right thing.
