Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
855. Commentary: This announcement is made during the adhan itself—after "Hayya 'ala al-falah," or in place of "Hayya 'ala al-salah, Hayya 'ala al-falah," or at the end of the adhan. Even now, if it is raining, or there is excessive mud, or a bitterly cold wind is blowing, and it is not possible to reach the mosque, then the mu’adhdhin can make this announcement. And Allah knows best. For further clarification on this issue, see the introduction to the Book of Adhan.

It is not established from the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) that he led the Friday prayer (Jumu‘ah) while on a journey. For residents, if attendance is difficult, there is a concession. However, the imam should lead the Friday prayer for those present. For details, see: [صحيح بخاري۔ حديث : 668]

Benefit:
➊ It is permissible to perform prayer at home on the occasion of rain.
➋ On such an occasion, the muezzin should announce in the adhan: (Sallu fi rihalikum) “Pray in your dwellings.”
➌ When someone asks, “Who are you?” one should respond by stating one’s name. It is not appropriate to say, “It is me.”
