Al-Muttalib bin 'Abdullah bin Hantab (narrated) that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar performed Wudu', washing each part of the body three times, and he attributed that to the Prophet (ﷺ).

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
81. Commentary: Imam Bukhari rahimahullah states: Washing each limb of ablution (wudu) once is obligatory (fard), and washing them twice or thrice is Sunnah.
Like other hadith scholars, Imam Bukhari rahimahullah has also established chapters on this subject. Refer to: [صحیح البخاري ، الوضوء ، حدیث : 157- 159]
It is mentioned in the hadith that whoever washes more than three times exceeds and deviates from the Sunnah and commits injustice against himself.
