أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : مَنْ صَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ؟ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " الصَّلَاةُ فِيهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ ، إِلَّا مَسْجِدَ الْكَعْبَةِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that Maimunah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` "Whoever prays in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (that is good), for I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ' One prayer offered there is better than a thousand prayers offered elsewhere, except the Masjid of the Ka'bah.'"

692. Commentary: The prayer performed in Masjid al-Haram is one hundred thousand times superior to the prayer in an ordinary mosque, and one hundred times superior to the prayer in Masjid an-Nabawi. [سنن ابن ماجة ، إقامة الصلوات ، حدیث : 1406]
This matter is explicitly mentioned in other authentic ahadith; therefore, there is no need to interpret it incorrectly by saying that the prayer in Masjid an-Nabawi is superior to the prayer in Masjid al-Haram, but not by a thousand degrees, rather by less than a thousand degrees, because such an interpretation is contrary to other authentic ahadith.
