قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا
سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ
عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ
عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، يَقُولُ : أَنْبَأَنَا
رَجُلٌ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُنَادِيَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي فِي لَيْلَةٍ مَطِيرَةٍ فِي السَّفَرِ ، يَقُولُ : " حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ ، صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ " .
´It was narrated that 'Amr bin Aws said:` "A man of Thaqif told us that he heard the caller of the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) on a rainy night during a journey saying: 'Hayya 'ala as-salah, Hayya 'ala al'falah, sallu fi rihalikum (Come to prayer, come to prosperity, pray in your dwellings).'"

654. Commentary:
➊ The apparent wording indicates that «حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ» and «حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ» will be said once each, but this is a concise expression; in the rain prayer call (adhan) as in the regular adhan, these phrases will be said twice each, and even «صلُّوا في بُيُو تِكُمْ یا أَلا صَلُّوا في رِحالِكُمْ» will be said twice.
➋ Any other phrase similar to «صَلُّوا في رِحالِكُمْ» can also be said, for example: «صلُّوا في بُيُو تِكُمْ» or «أَلا صَلُّوا في رِحالِ», etc. These phrases are not contrary to «حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ» because the purpose of «حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ» is "perform the prayer," and if it is meant as "come to the mosque for prayer," then in the case of rain, this address will be to those present, and the address to those absent will be «أَلا صَلُّوا في رِحالِ».
➌ According to this narration, these words will be said after «حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ», and this is more appropriate so that people become aware of the concession. In some narrations, these words are after the adhan, from which it is understood that these phrases will be said separately after the adhan so that the original form of the adhan is not altered. In the narration of Ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhuma in the Sahihayn, it is understood that these phrases will be said in place of «حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ».
