´It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) set out at nightfall, then stopped to camp at the end of the night, and he did not wake up until the sun had risen or had partly risen. He did not pray until the sun had risen (fully), then he prayed, and that was the 'middle prayer' (Salat Al-Wusta)."

626. Commentary:
➊ This narration is weak; therefore, the interpretation of the "middle prayer" (salat al-wusta) attributed to Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhuma) in it is not authentic. The correct view is that what is meant by it is the Asr prayer. See: [حدیث : 473 ، 474]
The remaining points are established from other narrations.
➋ Apparently, all the narrations in this chapter pertain to a single incident, with the difference being one of summary and detail, except for hadith 623, which relates to the Battle of Khandaq. However, it is also possible that there were multiple incidents. And Allah knows best.
