Hadith 5735

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ , قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ , عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَائِذٍ الْأَسَدِيِّ , قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْعَصِيرِ , قَالَ : " اشْرَبْهُ حَتَّى يَغْلِيَ مَا لَمْ يَتَغَيَّرْ " .
´It was narrated that Hisham bin 'A'idh Al-Asadi said:` "I asked Ibrahim about juice and he said: 'Drink it, unless it bubbles, so long as it doesn't change.'"

This ruling is not specific to grape juice alone, but applies to the juice of any fruit. Or if preservatives are added to it, for example: squash, which becomes bitter like vinegar but, due to a specific medicine, no fermentation or change occurs in it and it does not become intoxicating. Therefore, squash made from any fruit may be used.
