´It was narrated that Suwiad bin Ghafalah said:` "Umar bin Al-Khattab wrote to some of his workers saying: 'Give to the Muslims thickened grape juice when two thirds of it have gone and one-third is left.'"

1؎: If two-thirds of grape juice has evaporated and one-third remains, it is called "tila." This is permissible (halal).

Urdu marginal note: When the juice of grapes becomes so dry, generally there remains no possibility of intoxication; only sweetness remains. However, if hypothetically intoxication is produced in it as well, then that too will be unlawful (haram).
