Explanation & Benefits

(1) Due to the lack of pores or the pores being sealed in the aforementioned vessels, intoxication occurs quickly; therefore, making nabidh in these vessels has been prohibited. Or, these vessels were used for making wine. At the time when wine was declared forbidden, even the permissible use of these vessels was temporarily prohibited so that even the thought of wine would not arise. Later, permission was granted to use these vessels; however, caution must be exercised that intoxication does not occur, otherwise the beverage will become unlawful (haram). If intoxication does not occur, then there is no harm.
(2) Balh, zahu, busr, rutab, and tamr are all different stages of the date fruit. Balh refers to the unripe date when its color is still green. Busr is the half-ripe date, that is, when it becomes somewhat soft. Zahu is when it begins to ripen and its color changes. Rutab is when it is fully ripe and fresh. Tamr is when it becomes dry and its moisture is gone. All these stages are very different from each other; therefore, they will be given the ruling of separate fruits. And it is prohibited to drink nabidh made from any two of these types combined.
