Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
(1) This blessed hadith indicates that those jinn who are able to overpower and dominate humans in order to harm and trouble them—therefore, humans should continue to supplicate and plead in the court of Allah, the Lord of Majesty, so that they may remain protected from the mischief of wicked and evil jinn.
(2) This blessed hadith also proves that the evil eye is a reality, and it is not necessary that only a human’s eye causes it; rather, the evil eye of the jinn can also affect someone.
(3) In the two chapters of seeking refuge (Mu'awwidhatayn), there is protection from every kind of evil; therefore, they are comprehensive. In their presence, there is no need for other supplications for seeking refuge, although there is also no prohibition in reciting them.
(4) The effect of the evil eye is not limited to humans; rather, at times, it has such a severe effect on inanimate objects that it cannot be removed by medicines, etc., but requires the recitation of supplications for seeking refuge (mu'awwidhat). Even if this effect cannot be rationally explained, its denial is not possible. Not everything in this world happens according to reason; rather, in many matters, human intellect is left bewildered and sciences are rendered helpless. The fact that one end of a magnet always points north is also an example of this. However, its denial is not possible.
