´It was narrated from 'Umar that:` He did not allow the wearing of silk except (something) the width of four fingers.

In the previous narration, two fingers were mentioned, while in this one, four are mentioned. The majority of scholars consider a bandage (splint) of four fingers to be permissible, but not more than that, because permission for more than this has not been narrated.
