Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
“Red garment”: Some researchers hold the view that it is prohibited for men to wear pure red garments. If there are only red stripes, then there is no harm. Or, it is not absolute red that is intended, but rather ‘mu‘aṣfar’ and ‘muza‘far’ (garments dyed with safflower or saffron), the prohibition of which is mentioned in other ahadith. The remaining types of red are permissible. And Allah knows best. (For further details, see Hadith: 5175)

Benefits and Issues:
This narration is weak; therefore, the exception mentioned in its last part—that embroidery done with silk thread is permissible—is not authentically established.
