Hadith 5251

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَعَنَ الْوَاصِلَةَ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that:` The Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursed the woman who affixes hair extensions.

Explanation & Benefits

It is permissible to invoke curse (la'nah) upon an evil deed or attribute; however, it is not permissible to invoke curse upon a specific individual, except in the case where there is explicit disbelief (kufr), or Allah and His Messenger have invoked curse upon him, such as: "Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he!" (: al-Lahab 111:1).
