´It was narrated that 'Ali said:` "The Prophet [SAW] forbade me from Al-Qassi, silk, gold rings, and that I recite Qur'an while bowing." Hisham contradicted him, he did not narrate it in Marfu' form.
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
The purpose is that when Ash'ath narrated this report from Muhammad ibn Sirin, he said: "From Muhammad, from Ubaydah, from Ali, he said: The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) forbade me," that is, he narrated the hadith as marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). And when Hisham narrated from Muhammad ibn Sirin, he said: "From Ubaydah, from Ali, he said: He forbade..."—that is, he narrated it as mawquf (attributed to Ali radi Allahu anhu). However, in ruling, it is considered marfu‘.
