´It was narrated that Malik bin 'Umair said:` "Sa'sa'ah bin Suwhan came to 'Ali and said: 'Forbid to us from that which the Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade to you.' He said: 'He forbade us from Ad-Dubba', Al-Hantam, An-Naqir, Al-Ji'ah, and he forbade us from gold circles (rings), wearing silk, and wearing Al-Qassi, and red Al-Mitharah.'"

Hadith Takhrij «
Brief Explanation
1؎ : «دبّاء» : A vessel made from gourd; hantam: a green-colored vessel in which nabidh is prepared; «نقیر» : a vessel made by hollowing out the wood of the root of a date-palm; «مزفت» : a dyed vessel. The prohibition regarding these vessels has been abrogated; it is possible that Ali radi Allahu anhu was not aware of its abrogation.
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
Urdu footnote:
The root of the date palm would be hollowed out from the inside to make a large vessel. This too would be free of pores, and thus they had also designated this vessel for wine so that intoxication would occur quickly. Furthermore, this narration is authentic based on corroborating evidence, as the researcher of the book has also written that the preceding narration suffices for this one.
