Hadith 5122

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ خُلَيْدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اتَّخَذَتْ خَاتِمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَحَشَتْهُ مِسْكًا " ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هُوَ أَطْيَبُ الطِّيبِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said:` "The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'A woman from among the Children of Israel took a ring of gold and filled it with musk.' The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'That is the best kind of perfume.'"

Explanation:
1:
The meaning is that men should use such fragrance in which there is scent but no color,
such as perfume (itr) and oud, etc.,
and women should use such things in which there is color but no scent, for example saffron and henna, etc.

Note:
(In the chain of narration, "rajul" is an ambiguous narrator,
but due to corroborating evidence, this hadith is hasan li ghayrihi.
