Hadith 5110

´It was narrated that Ibn Mas'ud said:` "I heard the Messenger of Allah [SAW] cursing Al-Mutanammisat, women who have their teeth separated, and women who have tattoos done, those who change the creation of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime."

Urdu footnote:
In hadith number 5094, it was mentioned that in the era of ignorance (jahiliyyah), women used to rub their teeth with a file to make them thin. The purpose of this was that the teeth would appear separate from each other. This very act has been referred to in this hadith as artificially creating gaps between the teeth. This is forbidden (haram). Firstly, because it is altering the creation of Allah Ta'ala, and secondly, because making such excessive efforts for the sake of beauty is an unnecessary hassle.
