´Ziyad bin Al-Husain narrated that his father said:` "When he came to the Prophet [SAW] in Al-Madinah, the Messenger of Allah [SAW] said to him: 'Come closer to me.' So he came closer to him, and he put his hand on his braid and wiped his head and prayed for him."

"Dhū’ābah" is also used to refer to a ram, that is, hair that is braided. It is also used for hanging hair, which are also called "zulfayn" (locks). Generally, "zulfayn" refers to those hairs which hang over the face. And Allah knows best.
