´It was narrated that Tariq bin Shihab said:` "A Jewish man came to 'Umar bin Al-Khattab and said: 'O Commander of the Believers! There is a Verse in your Book which you recite; if it had been revealed to us Jews we would have taken that day as a festival.' He said: 'Which Verse is that?' He said: 'This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.' 'Umar said: 'I know the place where it was revealed and the day on which it was revealed. It was revealed to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] at 'Arafat, on a Friday.'"

Brief Explanation
This verse also indicates the increase and decrease of faith, in such a way that the religion of Islam is complete in comparison to other religions, and the opposite of complete is deficient, so the faith of the people of Islam became greater than that of the previous communities.
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
(1) "They made it a festival" because the completion of religion is a very great honor and blessing for any community, which was granted to the Ummah of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
(2) "I know"—that is, for us, not only is that day itself a festival, but the place of its revelation has also become an Eid ground until the Day of Judgment. Certainly, every year on that day, such a large gathering at that place cannot even be imagined by any other nation. And all praise is due to Allah for that.
(3) "Perfected"—as if previously it was incomplete. And any deficiency or excess in the religion necessitates deficiency or excess in faith (iman), because it is obligatory to have faith in every part of the religion.
