Hadith Takhrij «تفرد بہ النسائي (تحفة الأشراف: 15653) (صحیح)»
Brief Explanation
1؎ : From this it is understood that the faith (iman) of Ammar radi Allahu anhu was greater than that of some other people. From this, it is established that faith varies in degree among individuals. This is the very creed of the Salaf: that faith increases and decreases, both in relation to each individual and also in comparison to one another.
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
(1) It is an established fact that not all believers are equal in faith; therefore, their rank and status cannot be the same either. The purpose of the chapter is also this: that faith (iman) can increase and decrease. Furthermore, those who claim that the faith of the believers is like the faith of Jibril (Gabriel) — “My faith is like the faith of Jibril alayhis salam” — are not correct in their assertion. The increase and decrease in faith is an absolute matter. (For the explanation of faith, see Kitab al-Iman.)

(2) “Up to the edges” — in Arabic, the word *mashash* is used, which means the farthest ends of the bones, for example: elbows, knees, ankles, shoulders, etc. In this, there is a great virtue of ‘Ammar radi Allahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam himself praised his faith. Radi Allahu anhu wa ardah.
