Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
(1) Although this narration is technically mawquf (attributed to a Companion), in effect it is considered marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), because such a statement cannot be made by a Companion based on personal opinion. And Allah knows best.

(2) The editor of the book has declared both of the aforementioned narrations to be weak in terms of their chain of transmission, but other scholars, based on supporting evidence, have deemed them hasan (sound). See: (al-Sahihah, Hadith: 231, and Dhakheerat al-‘Uqba, Sharh Sunan al-Nasa’i: 30/37–32).
