Hadith 481

´It was narrated that 'Irak bin Malik said:` "I heard Nawfal bin Mu'awiyah say: 'There is a prayer which if a person misses it, it is as of he has been robbed of his family and his wealth.'" Ibn 'Umar said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'It is 'Asr prayer.'"

481. Commentary:

➊ The difference between Sunan an-Nasa'i hadith 480 and hadith 481 is that the first hadith is a statement of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), while the second is the personal statement of Nawfal bin Mu'awiyah (radi Allahu anhu).

➋ Apparently, these three narrations do not have a direct connection with the chapter, except if it is said that during travel, one tends to become lazy. At times, even the time for prayer passes by. The traveler should ensure that he does not miss the 'Asr prayer during its prescribed time, otherwise he will incur severe loss. He should perform it within its time.
