English Translation:

“The animal killed after being tied up as a target” refers to that animal which is caught and tied in such a way that it cannot escape, in fact, it cannot even move, and then it is tormented and killed by repeatedly aiming at it with arrows or similar weapons. This method, besides being cruel, is also against the principles of hunting. The principle is that any animal which has been captured—whether it is domesticated or wild—should be slaughtered by laying it down or, if appropriate, by performing nahr (slaughtering by piercing the throat while the animal is standing). And if the animal cannot be restrained, as is the case with wild animals, then it should be hunted with an arrow or a hunting dog, reciting Bismillah (in the name of Allah). Any animal killed by methods other than these two will be unlawful (haram). Its ruling will be that of carrion (maytah).
