Hadith 4298

أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْرُوفُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ الْجُذَامِيُّ ، أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ رَبَاحٍ اللَّخْمِيّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَحِلُّ ثَمَنُ الْكَلْبِ ، وَلَا حُلْوَانُ الْكَاهِنِ ، وَلَا مَهْرُ الْبَغِيِّ ".
´Abu Hurairah said:` "The Prophet said: 'The price of a dog, the fees of a fortuneteller and the gift of a female fornicator are not permissible."'

Benefits and Issues:
Benefit.
Islam desires to keep its society free from all those impurities and abominations
which are characteristic of dog-worshipping societies.
For this purpose, Islam has strictly prohibited its (the dog's) buying and selling.

Benefit:
Cows, buffaloes, goats, etc. are taken to a male (animal) for breeding purposes.
The owner of the male animal charges a fee in exchange for mating.
This is not correct; rather, this act should be done for the sake of Allah (fi sabilillah). However, if the owner of the female animal, of his own accord and without any demand, offers something, then it is permissible to accept it.
