Hadith 4177

´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Waqdan As-Sa'di said:` "We came in a delegation to the messenger of Allah, each of us with a question to ask him. I was the last of them to come in to the Messenger of Allah, and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have left people behind me, and they are saying that emigration (Hijrah) has ceased.' He said: 'Emigration will not cease so long as the disbelievers are being fought."'

Brief Explanation
1؎ : In the previous hadith, it is stated that after the conquest of Makkah, migration (hijrah) has ended, and in this hadith, it is stated that as long as the battle between Islam and disbelief continues in the world, migration will continue. There is no contradiction, difference, or conflict between the two. The meaning there is that the need to migrate from Makkah to Madinah no longer remains, because Makkah, having been conquered, has become part of the Islamic government. As for migration from the land of war (dar al-harb), just as before the conquest of Makkah, due to Makkah being dar al-harb, migration from there was necessary, here too it will remain necessary. There are also other even clearer ahadith narrated on this subject.

Urdu marginal note:
"It cannot end" because as long as the conflict between Islam and disbelief persists, Muslims will continue to be oppressed and subjugated in some region or another. Therefore, the journey from the abode of war (dar al-harb) to the abode of Islam (dar al-Islam) will continue, and this is what constitutes migration (hijrah). Or, it may mean that for the sake of jihad, Muslims will continue to temporarily leave their homes and families. With the help of these two meanings, it becomes possible to reconcile the narrations reported regarding whether migration (hijrah) has ended or not.
