Hadith 4172

´It was narrated from Kathir bin Murrah that Abu Fatimah told him that he said:` "O Messenger of Allah, tell me of an action that I may do and persist in it." The Messenger of Allah said to him: "You should emigrate, for there is nothing like it."

Brief Explanation
1؎: This statement was specific to Abu Fatimah and people in similar circumstances; the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would often recommend certain actions and deeds as better or more virtuous according to the particular situation of the questioner.
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
It depends on the circumstances. At certain times, migration (hijrah) is superior; at other times, jihad is superior, and at other times, some other deed. Similarly, there is a difference from person to person. For some individuals, migration (hijrah) is superior, while for others, some other deed is superior—just as the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) prevented the Bedouin (a‘rabi) from migrating.
