English Translation:
Mu’ammal is a narrator about whom there is discussion, whereas Abdur Rahman ibn Mahdi is trustworthy (thiqah) and precise (mutqin). Abdur Rahman has narrated this report as mursal, while Mu’ammal has narrated it as connected (mawsul). Certainly, in comparison to Mu’ammal’s narration, the mursal narration of Abdur Rahman is preserved (more reliable). Thus, the connectedness (ittisal) of this narration through Mu’ammal’s chain is not correct. However, this narration (4098) of Abu Ja’far is authentic (sahih) and is also established as connected (mawsul), and it is coming ahead (in 4101).
