´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` "A man came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if someone comes to steal my wealth?' He said: 'Urge him by Allah.' He said: 'What if he persists?' He said: 'Urge him by Allah.' He said: 'What if he persists?' He said: 'Urge him by Allah.' He said: 'What if he persists?' He said: 'Then fight. If you are killed you will be in Paradise, and if you kill him, he will be in the Fire.'"
Hadith Referenceسنن نسائي / كتاب تحريم الدم / 4087
1؎ : Among the causes for entering Paradise is also being killed while protecting one’s wealth. This does not mean that if a person neither has correct belief nor observes fasting, prayer, and other rulings and purity of the Shari‘ah, and such a person is killed while protecting his wealth, then he will go straight to Paradise.

Urdu marginal note: “He will go to the Fire”—the intent is that there will be no compensation (diyah) required for his killing; rather, his blood will be wasted (i.e., there will be no legal retribution for his death).
