أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، فِي عَبْدَيْنِ مُتَفَاوِضَيْنِ كَاتَبَ أَحَدُهُمَا ، قَالَ : " جَائِزٌ إِذَا كَانَا مُتَفَاوِضَيْنِ يَقْضِي أَحَدُهُمَا عَنِ الْآخَرِ " .
´It was narrated from Az-Zuhri concerning two slaves who were partners, and one of them quit, that he said:` "One of them may cover for the other if they were partners."

In a partnership of mufawadah, two individuals become partners in all their wealth, benefits, and profits. They act as each other's agents and guarantors to the extent that a debt owed by one can be demanded from the other. Therefore, in such a situation, when one partner agrees upon the price of his freedom with his master, the other will also cooperate and participate with him in this matter.
