´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:` "When Allah created Paradise and Hell, He sent Jibril, peace be upon him, to Paradise and said: 'Look at it and at what I have prepared for its people in it.' He looked at it, then he came back and said: 'By Your Glory, no one will hear of it but he will enter it.' So He commanded that it be surrounded by hardships and said: 'Go and look at it and at what I have prepared for its people in it.' He looked at it and saw that it had been surrounded with hardships. He (Jibril) said: 'By Your Glory, I fear that no one will enter it.' He (Allah) said: 'Go and look at the Fire and at what I have prepared for its people in it.' So he looked at it and parts of it were piled upon other parts. He came back and said: 'By Your Glory, no one will enter it.' So He commanded that it be surrounded with pleasures and said: 'Go and look at it.' So he looked at it and saw that it was surrounded with pleasures. He came back and said: 'By Your Glory, I fear that no one will be saved from it and all will enter it.'"

Brief Explanation
1؎ : The correspondence with the chapter is found in this very sentence.

2؎ : That is, he has been surrounded by righteous deeds such as prayer (salat), fasting (sawm), almsgiving (zakat), and striving (jihad). The performance of these deeds is only possible when a person, exercising control over his own self, carries them out; and according to the Book and the Sunnah, the attainment of Paradise without fulfilling these deeds is inconceivable. This is because, due to all these righteous deeds, he will become deserving of Allah’s mercy, and as a result of this mercy, he will enter Paradise.

3؎ : That is, such severity is found in it that it seems as if one part is consuming the other.

4؎ : Because if a person pursues his desires and fails to exercise control over his own self, there is fear that he may not be able to save himself from entering Hell.
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
(1) The honor of Allah is not something separate from the Essence of Allah, rather it is an inherent attribute; therefore, it is permissible to swear an oath by this attribute.

(2) The statement of Jibril (alayhis salam) by swearing an oath and making the above commentary is his own estimation. Despite this, countless servants of Allah will enter Paradise by staying away from Hell, and will adopt disliked things by considering them delightful, and will regard desires as enemies and keep away from them.

(3) The surrounding of Paradise and Hell with disliked things and desires may be an actual reality of the higher realm, or it may simply be a metaphor: that the delights of Paradise cannot be attained without adopting disliked things (such as: prayer, fasting, and jihad—difficult acts), and the inevitable result of indulging in desires is the fire of Hell. And Allah knows best.

(4) Both Paradise and Hell are creations of Allah and truly exist; the claim of the Mu'tazilah that Allah will create them on the Day of Resurrection is absolutely incorrect.

Benefits and Issues:
➊ Paradise and its blessings, as well as Hell and its punishment, have in reality already been created.

➋ Entry into Paradise is only possible by adhering to the prescribed religious obligations, and in contrast, following one's base desires and abandoning religious obligations leads to Hell. Therefore, it is necessary for a person to keep away from following base desires.
