´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:` "Whoever keeps a horse for the cause of Allah out of faith in Allah and believing the promise of Allah, its feed, water, urine and dung will all count as Hasanat in the balance of his deeds."
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
(1) On the Day of Resurrection, both deeds and rewards will be weighed.
(2) Endowing horses and other items in the path of Allah is recommended (mustahabb).
(3) Faith (iman) is a condition for the acceptance of deeds; therefore, the good deeds of disbelievers (kuffar) will be of no benefit to them on the Day of Resurrection. They are given their recompense for these deeds in this world.

Hadith Commentary: Hafiz Sahib states:
In this hadith, there is permissibility of endowing horses for the defense of the Muslims, and it is also deduced from this that it is permissible to endow other movable properties besides horses, and all the more so, the endowment of immovable properties is preferable in any case. (Fath al-Bari)
That is, it is established from this hadith that it is permissible to endow a horse for the defense against enemies. From this, the permissibility of endowing other movable properties besides horses is also established, and the endowment of immovable property is, in any case, better.
In the present era, many types of mechanical instruments of war and combat have come into existence, without which success on the battlefield today is difficult. For this reason, the nations of the world are engaged in efforts to surpass one another in the acquisition of these instruments.
Whenever and wherever the opportunity for jihad arises under Islamic regulations, there will be a need for these instruments, and their provision will take precedence over all else.
In this regard, the provision of all these at such times will also be a cause of reward similar to the provision of horses during the era of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
Insha Allah Ta'ala.

Hadith Commentary:
1.
In one narration it is stated:
"Whoever keeps a horse for striving in the path of Allah, then arranges its feed with his own hand, Allah Almighty writes a good deed in his record for every grain of its feed."
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Kitab al-Jihad, Hadith 2791)
2.
Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah writes:
This hadith proves that dedicating a horse for the defense of the country is permissible.
It is even more permissible to dedicate any kind of property, whether movable or immovable, besides a horse.
(Fath al-Bari: 6/71)
In the present era, many types of weapons and instruments of war have come into existence, without which success on the battlefield today is difficult.
The nations of the world are engaged in surpassing one another in the procurement of these instruments.
Whenever, anywhere, there is an opportunity for jihad according to Islamic rules, these instruments will be needed; in this regard, the provision of all these instruments will, In sha Allah, be a cause of reward similar to the provision of horses in the era of the Messenger (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
