´It was narrated that Jarir said:` "I saw the Messenger of Allah twisting the forelock of a horse with his two fingers, and saying: 'Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection: Reward and spoils of war.'"

(1) Braiding the horse’s hair with his blessed hand was due to love, affection, and attachment to horses.
(2) “Until the Day of Judgment”—from this, it is necessarily concluded that jihad will continue until the Day of Judgment. In addition, these words indicate the ruling that one should continue to engage in jihad, whether the ruler is righteous or wicked.
(3) Special care should be taken of everything used in jihad, whether they are horses or other weapons, etc.
