Hadith 3408

Narrated from Umm al-Mu’minin Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she brought food in a bowl to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions. Meanwhile, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) came wearing a sheet, and she had a stone with her, with which she struck the bowl and broke it into two pieces. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to join the two pieces of the bowl and was saying: “Eat, your mother has become jealous,” and he said it twice. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took Aisha’s bowl and sent it to Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), and gave Umm Salamah’s bowl to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
It is possible that this hadith is a detailed explanation of hadith number 3407. In this case, Umm Salamah (radi Allahu anha) attributed the action of the messenger to herself because the messenger was sent on her behalf. It is also possible that this is a separate incident, and the detailed explanation of hadith 3407 will come in the following hadith.
