´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` "A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was delivering a Khutbah from the Minbar, and he said: 'If I fight in the cause of Allah with patience and seeking reward, facing the enemy and not running away, do you think that Allah will forgive my sins?' He said: 'Yes.' Then he fell silent for a while. Then he said: 'Where is the one who was asking just now?' The man said: 'Here I am.' He said: 'What did you say?' He said: 'What did you say?' He said: 'I said: I said: If I fight in the cause of Allah with patience and seeking reward, facing the enemy and not running away, do you think that Allah will forgive my sins?' He said: 'Yes, except for debt. Jibril told me that just now.'"
Explanation & Benefits

(1) It is understood from this that even the greatest virtue, "martyrdom" (shahadah), cannot become a means for the forgiveness of the rights of people (huquq al-‘ibad), so how can other good deeds eliminate the rights of people? Except in the case where, after fulfilling the rights of people, some good deeds remain. This does not prove that whoever has any "right" due upon him will not enter Paradise, because it is possible that after fulfilling that right, some good deeds still remain for him, so nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise. The meaning of this hadith is only that, despite martyrdom, the fulfillment of the rights of people is obligatory; it will not be forgiven. Also, this is only the case if he does not leave behind an inheritance equal to that right. If he left behind an inheritance for the fulfillment of that right and it was paid on his behalf in this world, then there will be no questioning in the Hereafter. Except if there was some fault on his part, i.e., he left after refusing to fulfill that right, etc.
(2) "Jibril (alayhis salam)..." It is understood that, apart from the well-known form of revelation (wahy), sometimes the angel would speak to you directly as well; however, Qur'anic revelation would come only through the specific method, which the Companions (radi Allahu anhum) would convey.
