Hadith 3064

´Abu Az-Zubair narrated that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah say:` "I saw the Messneger of Allah stone the Jamrat while on his camel saying: "O people, learn your rituals (of Hajj) for I do not know whether I will perform Hajj again after this year.'"

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
“Perhaps”—In reality, based on many indications, you had already come to know that this was the last year of your worldly life, and you had also conveyed this to the people through hints and allusions. The above sentence is also an expression of this very matter. The inability to perform Hajj also implies death. The word “perhaps” is in accordance with prophetic dignity, for despite certainty, the possibility was expressed, because in such matters, in any case, the knowledge belongs only to Allah Ta’ala. Only three months later, the beloved Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was united with his Lord and the Highest Companion. May my soul, my spirit, my father, and my mother be sacrificed for him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

Benefits and Issues:

While traveling from one place to another during Hajj, one should avoid haste and instead proceed at a moderate pace.

Wadi Muhassir is the place where the army of Abraha was destroyed; therefore, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) passed through there quickly.

Ancient ruined settlements should not be made into places of sightseeing.
In Pakistan, the ruins of Harappa and Mohenjo-daro are found, and similar sites exist in other countries as well.
It is possible that the people of these places were destroyed due to Allah’s punishment.
The remnants of nations punished by Allah are a source of lesson, not a place of amusement.

In matters of Shariah, the original reference is the blessed person of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam); the action of anyone else is not a proof.
From the scholars, one should only seek the command of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not remain alive until the next Hajj, just as he had stated at the occasion of the last Hajj.
Many other prophecies of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) were also fulfilled exactly as foretold.
This is evidence of the truthfulness and prophethood of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
