´Abu Az-Zubair narrated that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah say:` During the Farewell Pilgrimage the Prophet circumambulated the House and went between As-Safa and Al-Marwah on his mount so that the people could see him and he could see them, and they could ask him questions, and the people crowded around him.

From this it is understood that, in case of necessity, circumambulation (tawaf) may be performed on a mount instead of on foot. For example, elderly and sick individuals. Similarly, a mount may be used for educational purposes and the like.

This hadith has been narrated by Zaid bin Aslam with the same chain of transmitters and he said: He should perform two prostrations before the salutation, as it was mentioned by Sulaiman bin Bilal (RA) .

Benefits and Issues: From this hadith, it is understood that even in the case of praying based on the lesser number (bi-na‘alay al-aqall), that is, performing the prayer according to certainty, the prostrations of forgetfulness (sujud as-sahw) will be performed before the salutation (salam), even if in this situation there is an addition in the prayer. That is, if instead of four, five units (rak‘ahs) are performed.
