Hadith 2631

´Ibn 'abbas said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Perform Hajj and 'Umrah consecutively; for they remove poverty and sin as the bellows removes impurity from iron.'''

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
(1) By “successively” is meant that after performing Hajj, one performs ‘Umrah, and after ‘Umrah, Hajj—meaning, sometimes Hajj, sometimes ‘Umrah.

(2) “They remove sins.” That is, their reward continues to erase the effects of sins. Or, by the blessing of Hajj and ‘Umrah, a person abandons sins. The more Hajj and ‘Umrah one performs, the farther he will be from sins.

(3) The reason poverty is removed is that a considerable amount of wealth is spent on these acts of worship, and Allah Ta‘ala has promised that whoever spends in My path, I will give him more. Allah Ta‘ala will open for such a person the spiritual doors of sustenance. It is possible that by poverty is meant poverty of the heart, i.e., by performing Hajj and ‘Umrah successively, the heart will become generous, and miserliness will not remain in the heart. And Allah knows best.
