Urdu footnote:
The hardship of jihad is beyond the capacity of women, therefore they cannot participate in jihad. Furthermore, there is the risk that if women are captured by the enemy, they may be dishonored, which would be a matter of humiliation and disgrace for Muslim men. In the early period, women used to accompany the army to give water to the wounded, transport them from the battlefield, and provide basic first aid, but when the number of men increased, even for the above-mentioned purposes, generally women stopped going to the battlefield. In fact, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) also did not approve of their going.
