´It was narrated that Thawban said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever can promise me one thing. Paradise will be his." (One of the narrators) Yahya said: "Here a statement which means: That he will not ask the people for anything."

Hadith Takhrij«سنن ابن ماجہ/الزکاة25 (1837)، (تحفة الأشراف: 2098)، وقد أخرجہ: سنن ابی داود/الزکاة27 (1643)، مسند احمد (5/277، 279، 281) (صحیح)»
The promise of Paradise is not a trivial matter, but the restriction of not asking anything from anyone is also a very difficult affair. The courage, self-restraint, and reliance upon Allah (tawakkul) required for this are not within everyone’s capacity. Only rarely can such people be found.

Thawban, the client of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, reported him as saying: If anyone guarantees me that he will not beg from people, I will guarantee him Paradise. Thawban said: I (will not beg). He never asked anyone for anything.

1643. English Commentary: Not asking from people, in its broader sense, also includes not asking from other than Allah, which is the essence of tawhid (monotheism). And the guarantee of entering Paradise is also connected to this. However, our society is such that assemblies of shirk (polytheism) are set up everywhere for asking from other than Allah, where the simple-minded people's wealth is put at stake. May Allah protect us. And the professional beggars have no awareness of the evil of their actions and their bad end. (La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah)

´Abdur-Rahman bin Yazid narrated that:` Thawban said: “The Messenger of Allah said: 'Who will commit himself to one thing, I will guarantee him paradise?' I said: 'I will.' He said: 'Do not ask people for anything.' So Thawban would drop his whip while he was on his mount, and he would not say to anyone: 'Get that for me' rather he would dismount and grab it.”
Maulana Ataullah Sajid
Benefits and Issues: ➊ Self-sufficiency is a cause for entering Paradise. It is better not to seek help from others for tasks that a person can do himself. The noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) would adhere to the Prophetic instructions as much as possible. This hadith expresses the greatness and status of Thawban (radi Allahu anhu), as he received the promise of Paradise from the blessed tongue of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
