´It was narrated from wa'il bin Hujr that:` the Prophet sent a collector and he came to a man who brought him a slim, recently-weaned camel. The Prophet said: "We sent to Zakah collector of Allah and His Messenger, and so-and-so gave him a slim, recently-weaned camel. O Allah, do not bless him nor his camels!" News of that reached the man, so he came with a beautiful she-camel and said: "I repent to Allah and to His Prophet. " The Prophet said: "O Allah, bless him and his camels!" (Daif)
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
The researcher of the book has declared the aforementioned narration weak in its chain due to Sufyan al-Thawri, because Sufyan al-Thawri is a mudallis (one who practices tadlis). However, other imams and researchers have accepted his narrations despite his tadlis, therefore his tadlis is not harmful. For this reason, Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah has counted him among the second category of mudallisin in "Tabaqat al-Mudallisin." See: (Tabaqat al-Mudallisin, p. 21, Dar al-Bayan edition). On this basis, other researchers have declared this narration to have a sound chain of transmission. For details, see: (Dhakheerat al-Uqba Sharh Sunan al-Nasa’i: 22/127-129, and Sahih Sunan al-Nasa’i al-Albani, no. 2457).
