Hadith 2105

أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : وَذَكَرَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ أُوَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ عَدِيدِ بَنِي تَيْمٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " هَذَا رَمَضَانُ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ ، تُفَتَّحُ فِيهِ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَتُغَلَّقُ فِيهِ أَبْوَابُ النَّارِ ، وَتُسَلْسَلُ فِيهِ الشَّيَاطِينُ " , قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ : هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ خَطَأٌ .
´It was narrated form Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah said:` " There has come to you Ramadan in which the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of the fire are closed and the devils are chained up." (Sahih) Abu 'Abdur-Rahman said: this narration is a mistake.

Ibn Ishaq here narrated from Muhammad bin Muslim al-Zuhri and said: [وَذَکَرَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ اُوَیْسِ بْنِ اَبِیْ اُوَیْسٍ عَنْ اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالك] and has opposed all the other huffaz, even though all the other huffaz say [عِنِ الزُّھْرِیي عَن ابْنِ اَبِي اَنَسٍ عَنْ اَبِیْه عَنْ اَبِی ہُرَیْرَة]. Among them are ‘Aqil bin Khalid, Salih bin Kaysan, Shu‘ayb bin Abi Hamzah, and Yunus bin Yazid al-Ayli. All of them have narrated the hadith of Abu Hurayrah radi Allahu anhu. Ibn Ishaq is a mudallis; this is why he narrated in the chain by saying “and Muhammad bin Muslim mentioned,” which indicates tadlis, and for this reason, the aforementioned error occurred.
